I parked on the ground side of worsbrough common early and walked down- 15 minutes, got to the ground at 2:30 queued for 10 minutes, seemed a bit tight that only half the gates were open for east stand upper, anyway was in my seat for 2:45. I’m not familiar with the area, not being from Barnsley, but there’s always some “interesting” characters around, some poor guy today staggering about after the game, looked a serious drug victim. I worry about my car now!

Pretty much same experience except we were parked at 2 and sat in the beautiful west stand.

My old card worked. Janie's new card and phone didn't. Other than that same routine, bit of a queue, beer was warmer than the coffee.

Well it would be a problem if everyone did that. Also if coming in from Wombwell the courthouse is the wrong side of town. I have parked there occasionally but it’s far more convenient to park in Riding for Disabled or East Dene. Though East Dene may be a oroblem now as my Dad finds the hill too hard these days

Don't know about the traffic as I went I for 12 to have a few drinks.
Arrived at Oakwell to be met by huge queues on Grove Street to get into the ponty. Went round the corner to see more queues but these were actually moving. Took about 2 minutes to get in. Turnstile operators just basically waving people through. Probably a sensible decision really, though I doubt it's by the book.

Hopefully something to be sorted on the clubs end as for example I have no idea if the one on my phone or my card would have worked as I wasn't asked to provide either on entry yesterday.

I thought turnstile staff did well today. I've worked at events where the ticketing system doesn't exactly work as planned and it is so frustrating and stressful that their cool heads and good humour seemed very impressive. Even worse is when the public get shirty with you because things aren't working and you can't always explain exactly why.
No one in a position like that wants or enjoys things not going to plan. Be nice, have patience, give them a smile because they're having a bad enough day without you giving them grief for it.

I won't get chance to visit the box office whilst it's open before the next match. I wasn't being an arse about it.

If it's all the new cards (which it isnt as my son's new one worked) then surely the box office will reprint them all and post them out?

I think they just need the cards "loading" as they are electronic.

It worked when typing in the barcode number. This should be the same number the scanner, scans.

yeah I also come in from Wombwell and park up Near East Dene sometimes. Not sure why any body would park near the ground unless they had to. Towards the end of my grsndad going I did it for a few years. Always added stress

At a guess, the ones saying no traffic is because they didn’t go near the ground in a car (so basically just saying they didn’t have a problem not doing the thing people are talking about) and the ones who experienced no queues were at one of the turnstiles where people were being waved through so the queues went down quickly and not at one of the queues where numbers were being manually typed in which takes ages.

Exactly. The ones saying no traffic have already said they didn't park anywhere near the ground. It's like me saying I don't know why they complained it was flooding in London the other week I didn't get wet in Barnsley.

yeah if you have to it Is a pain. It always has been. I’ve always hated doing it. Found it stressful and not a great start or end to the game. It should be organised better but don’t think it ever will be.
