Is there any other ground in the country that has a significant part of the capacity written off for reasons nobody wants to officially confirm? There are stands the country over that are split, martialled, segregated and policed.

It's just bizarre we have 3 stands where we can't put our fans in parts of them.

Me too as you just don't have those problems at other grounds, regardless of how new they are.

It's really weird isn't it. Is it the police stopping us from opening up the area in the east stand and the north end of the west stand?

Oakwell is looking a bit shabby at the minute - I wonder if that's due to some neglect because of the ownership issue. It's sad to see.

I’m sure we’ve all been to grounds that ‘feel’ like they’re not as safe as Oakwell. Sat in temporary stands, or even in ‘away ends’ that are separated from home fans by a few metres of netting.
Whatever we’re doing wrong at Oakwell, I can’t believe it’s a simply a physical distancing issue.

Birmingham have 2 stands shut at the moment.

    4?
Isn’t there an ‘uninhabited’ corner in the Ponte too?

Seems a temporary thing though doesn't it? Just read an article saying they were closed for next two matches.

Our issues seem to spread season on season.

yeah agreed. Links into the ownership issue as you say. No motivation to sort it out until that’s sorted.

I don't know about Rotherham and Doncaster, but don't the Sheffield club have the same issue? Which points toward SY police being the problem?????

Its temporary - overunning engineering works or summat, doubless they will be closed in a few more weeks due to leaves on the concourse. They should have been ready for the season start but now I think its going to be after the international break, or later I guess if still not finished

Vesps big plan to make everyone happy

    Relocate training facilities off site.

Build new stadium on existing training ground.

Knock existing stadium down with the exception of the west stand.

Renovate west stand and use it as a club museum/social club.

So, West stand stays up, gets a new lease of life, stadium remains in its spiritual location & club gets a modern stadium.

    You're welcome. ;)

The difference between me & you St is that I concentrate on looking at the pitch as I have yet to see a match played in the stands .

In that case how do you believe that the west stand has a better view than the east stand?

If the long term plan is to get rid of something AND get people on side (be it Oakwell stadium, the NHS, Royal Mail) run it down til it's crap. I don't want that to happen.

Think you’ve got mixed up, he means he’s looking at the pitch. Doesn’t matter what stand you’re sat in, you should always really be looking at the pitch rather than gazing around looking at the stands!

He said there isn't a better view in the ground. I'd argue that if he's talking about view of the pitch the the east stand has an identical view at worst and in reality a better view due to improved sightlines and no posts in the way, no dugouts in the way etc.

Simply because when the east stand was first built myself & my two sons had season tickets on the top deck more or less on the half way line, we moved over to the west for the premier league season on the top deck again & moved down to the next to back row on the open seats a few seasons later & there with my grandchildren we have stayed since . We have also sat on the ponty for a few cup games but in my opinion the view we have currently is as good as it gets
