Claiming to have settled your claim, but didn’t & don’t provide evidence? Now demanding their fee & getting legal people involved.? A company called Allay is giving me aggro. But Gladstone Brookes sorted mine last year & I paid their commission. I’ve told them this, as much & as patiently be bothered to. But still it goes on. I told them not to bother me again, or I would report them. But again today, a dubious pdf of an agreement comes to my email. Apparently I gave an electronic signature, but would be clueless how to go about that. They’ve asked me previously to provide evidence that GB settled the claim. But I’m buggered if I’m giving confidential info to a firm I have no recollection of dealing with. One for Supertyke to get his fangs into, I think..
Let them take you to court. The onus is in them to prove you knowingly signed up with them and they got you the payout. Probably a scam.
Seems like they could be trying it on and have history for it. https://legalbeagles.info/forums/fo...agement-companies/1545952-allay-lose-in-court

I worked as a PPI complaints handler for Halifax. Allay claims and a company called We Fight Any Claim, are the biggest cowboys going. They used to send in 'complaints' on behalf of people, who had no knowledge of making a complaint all the time. Once, I picked up a complaint from Allay, and the person who had supposedly signed the letter of authority, which was dated 2019, had died 10 years earlier. My advice is to speak to the Financial Ombudsman. They've levied sanctions against Allay claims before because of these sorts of practices. All these claims management companies do at the end of the day, is send your name and address to the bank, and demand 40% of your payout in return. I'd argue its a bigger scandal than PPI ever was.
Yep! We actively told people it was their choice whether to use a Claims Company when we registered their complaint. However once they've got your details, they're like a dog with a bone. In fact, another thing Allay Claims used to do which got them into trouble with the financial ombudsman. We would call customers to gather information which might be relevant to the complaint. Employment details, health history etc. All things which were looked at to determine whether someone shouldn't have had PPI. Allay claims used to instruct customers not to speak to us, or be deliberately uncooperative. This is because, the likelihood of a complaint being upheld is much slimmer if we don't have all of the information. So then Allay claims could forward the complaint onto the financial ombudsman. If FOS decided that the complaint should be paid out, then a higher pay out would be due, as FOS would fine the bank for not paying out the complaint in the first instance. Allay would then make more in commission. Its incredible really that they're still in business.
Allay claims have gone belly up, they are trying it on with me for a winning case with a 'solicitor' of theres...DSA think they are called.
Thanks mate. They claim to have won me exactly the same amount, which had been settled a year before by Lloyd’s & Gladstone Brooke.
What they probably have done is applied for a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) from Lloyd's. Essentially Lloyd's will have sent them all the info they have for you to them. That's probably how they know how much you got back. All they need really is your signature, which can obviously be forged. It might be worth you applying for a DSAR from Lloyd's too. I believe it's free now (or at most £10), and you'll be able to get everything Lloyd's have about you, including letters sent to them by Allay claims. You'll have ammunition then if you do go to the financial ombudsman.
