Well he must have seen what we all saw & clearly failed to make any changes to the system. Be interesting to see how much time was wasted tippy tappying between our back line. We were 1-0 down after 3 minutes ffs!
Did you watch the game? We completely changed shape second half. When your options on the bench consist of Halme, Ben Williams, Miller, Adeboyejo and Moon, you're not going to change much.
I get your frustration but cmon! Played 3 and got ourselves 4 points. Not the best but certainly not the worst, it’s very early days. Up the reds.
Three games is too early to make a proper judgement but I am a tad concerned that he's completely abandoned the tactics and set up that led to such a successful season. What is a fair and reasonable timescale to judge him? 15 games (1/3 season, 23 games, 1/2 season) or does he deserve longer before we judge him?
The issue isn’t tactics, it’s hesitancy and a lack of confidence/quality in front of their goal. We had a lot more urgency second half, but couldn’t break them down still. In fact, probably came closer in the first half
In the olden days we would have said a year was a fair amount of time to judge. These days, managers tend not to be in post for longer than a year.
We've just had one of our most successful seasons ever and he has completely changed tact. We just don't look like scoring enough and not one of the three attacking players brought in for him start games. If you live by the sword you die by the sword. Hope for his sake but mainly ours that he knows what he's doing.
Far too quick to judge, but I hope someone shows him the videos of the last time we used to play like that at the back in the championship.
Agree with this about modern day managers / head coaches and time in post. Of course Schopp needs our backing even if things aren't quite going to plan but he also needs to show he's learning and willing to change if needed. The other way I'm looking at it is the first sign of any real success and these head coaches can't wait to bugger off to another club. I get that it's all about money, no affinity to the club etc. Well that works both ways, if after half a season he's proving not to be good enough then why shouldn't we move him on and look at someone else?
