Makes you wonder why we sold Chaplin now, given we've not replaced him with anyone who can actually start a game and we've obviously not got DK anymore.
It’s quite a list of players that are unavailable or doubtful that is building. Andersen, Morris, Kane, J Williams, Oulare and Iseka. Might need a park the bus on Saturday. Or go like last season, and park it on half way
If Schopp is looking for a solution to this, I suggest lemon juice. Put it on some covid test kits and get some matches postponed for a few weeks till we're in a better position available personnel wise.
I blame the referee against Coventry entirely for this injury. Come down hard on their player going through palmer early on and this wouldn't have happened. lovely person
Did we? What about the months Jordan Williams & Liam Kitching were out injured? Or that Carlton Morris was carrying an injury throughout his time with us and Valerien Ismael had to use him far more sparingly than he wanted in order to get some game time out of him? You sound like you're mimicking Stephen Dawson and rewriting history, Helen!
Not to mention that other Williams bloke who was out all season I think you tend not to notice when you are winning
If we consider last season Kitching had a few months out post signing. And Ben Williams was out all season. Jordan Williams was out for a while after a very good start. Morris still got plenty of game time. And despite a very intense highly physical style, our starting 11 kept a lot of consistency to it. There will be a few others I'm sure, but I don't recall anything too lengthy. If we look so far this season, we've already had injuries to Kane, Jordan Williams, Morris, Andersen and Cole had an interrupted pre season. And we've only had 3 games so far. Hopefully we aren't affected too much more or to our key players.
So last season wasn't injury free, we had long term injuries and we STILL comfortably made the Championship Play Offs. Which is why I'm not running round like Chicken Licken and writing of this current campaign.
We were very lucky with first team regulars tho, Williams, Williams and Kitching had little bearing on our season. Injuries to styles, brittain, Palmer, Woodrow and it would have been a different story I think.
No one knows what impact those players would've had on our season. But every season we do well whilst I've been posting on the BBS (January 2004), it's always claimed by someone that we've been lucky, 2005/06, 2015/16, 2018/19, 2020/21.
Dont forget that Kane seems to spend a fair amount of time injured as well and we did have injuries to Palmer at least
I'm certainly not writing it off. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. But we have had a lot of injuries very early. So given we've players to come back, the new strikers to hopefully get their permits sorted, a little patience as we shift to a more skilful style of play, it's been a very solid start to build from.
I'm glad to hear it. I'm delighted Palmer is getting the opportunity to show what he can do too. Lots to be optimistic about on the pitch.
Fair enough, I do think we were fortunate that there was no key players missing long term last season tho
