BLUES VISIT DESIGNATED AN ALL-TICKET CLASH Fixture News Ahead of our final home fixture this month, a decision has been taken after consultation with South Yorkshire Police. Continue reading on the official site...
I'm never going to get to a game this season. I never know until the morning of a match if I have enough cashdollar to attend, and if it would be financially sound. I understand why (stewarding) but it's a shame.
**** me what's going on? At some point one of the arseholes in charge is going to have to come out and open their gobs because this wall of silence whilst seemingly running oakwell and indeed the club into the ground is appalling. The way supporters are being deliberately kept in the dark is an absolutely **** way to run a public facing company
So would that be the same reason for the first game when radio silence was all we got? Doyle's security are ****. I have no idea why we keep using them
Did B…….. (no don’t say it…… don’t mention it) affect the lack of stewards across the country Shïte I mentioned it
Makes absolute sense to me and I said this in a separate post last night. It’s not the club’s fault. It’s not Doyle’s fault. It’s widespread in the hospitality industry - the staff are not currently there. They’ve all gone to warehouse jobs or delivery drivers - more hours and more money. It’s frustrating, but certainly can’t blame anyone. You can see there’s not as many stewards in the ground, and it’s also the reason why some turnstiles are not always open…… It’s probably also the reason for the emergency route now implemented. If it kicks off, the police can get in quicker and sort out.
I'd guess 80% due to COVID, with people in hospitality looking for more secure work elsewhere, and 20% down to the B word, with a lot of EU nationals who may have been stewards etc 'going home'.
So Doyle Security is letting the club down by not having enough qualified stewards and therefore costing us thousands of pounds? Why do we still use them?
Won't it actually take the police a lot longer to get into the ground because they've chosen the point furthest from the emergency vehicles entry point?
I read just the other day that after research, there is an estimate that 93,000 EU nationals have returned to the continent just from the pub and restaurant sector. That seems a pretty high number. What percentage that makes up of those lost from the industry currently, I wouldn't know.
With such a big bfc shortage of stewards I'm surprised they haven't been putting out regular articles on the official site asking for any trained stewards to contact the club. Got to be better to do that then throw away thousands each match
Doyles have been for months…… along with most other security companies. It ain’t the clubs fault nor Doyles.
I don't mind using a flexi ticket for you to attend if you can and not to worry if you can't. They sort of feel like freebies anyway as the money was spent more than 2 seasons ago!
Another negative knock on effect of lockdowns. Workers have ditched it to go for jobs in environments less likely to get whipped away at the whim of the government.
