I wondered what exactly was analysed - 'mileage' covered - accurate/inaccurate passing - successful tackles - responding to managers instructions etc. etc. by individual players. Or is it a team performance that's analysed rather than individual players? (BR if you don't know the answer to above questions - just pass on it - don't make it up as you go on.)
Private pay for Band 6 tends to be between £35k and £40k so not much of a difference. You’ll always have outliers to that. My main point is let’s not start finding another stick to try and beat the club with when there’s little knowledge out there of what the role is, what band the physio would be, and how that compares to other clubs. The negativity gets a bit tiring when it isn’t based in real fact or substance.
On the Club website the job spec says a physio not head physio. Losing ‘Sedgy’ would be a major loss as he is one of the best in the game. I think he was also a player in the BFC academy so he is steeped in BFC, he has a masters degree and is probably the longest serving employee at the Club.
Stumbled across an article on Championship salaries. Can’t verify the accuracy, however it suggests average first team physio salary of c70k https://www.soundhealthandlastingwe...s-dont-add-up-in-efl-with-clubs-on-the-brink/
Seems to be a lot of people jumping to the wrong conclusions and slagging the club off as usual without bothering to look at the facts. The job post clearly says: “The successful candidate will assist the Lead Physiotherapist in providing medical provision for first team players ...” So clearly Sedgy isn’t being paid the £30k quoted on here and just accepted as gospel.
Unfortunately Loko you're fighting a losing battle. Even if there were no sticks to beat the club up with there are plenty of world class stick finders on here who will happily continue to berate the club and pretty much everything it does. It will never change.
....jumping to the wrong conclusions.....slagging off the club.....not bothering to look at the facts...... No....not here....not on the BBS!!!! The day this changes is the day you'll actually see a bright pink pig flying across a bright blue sky.
I wasn't pinpointing our club in particular, just that there is a lot of money at stake in terms of player fitness so you'd think being a specialist would carry more monetary reward On the other hand I suppose being at a football job, just like something like fashion or publishing is a job that lots would want to go into.
