We played well, great first half. 100% lacking any type of squad depth. Benson and Palmer off for two centre halves. Don't want to sound negative but were a Championship side, finished in the play offs last year and were still trying to fill holes with players who don't play in the positions there asked. Why don't we just invest a tad but more? We were awesome first half but options on he bench totally deny us of any positive changes. We must have the worst bench for options in the league.
Thing is... With a full fit squad, assuming our starting 11 remained the same, our bench could also have included: Oularé Iseka Andersen Kane Morris Jordan Williams
Yep sounds right. I think there were some great things to see today and when we are on it then we look good. Thats a positive. But to compete at this level it needs more when we are 2-0 up. We need to embrace the positives and improve on the weaknesses. By 'we' I mean players, coaches and owners.
The team will naturally strengthen even without any more signings. I'm not overly concerned at the moment. Given the injuries etc the points total is ok
I swear I’ve just read a three page thread saying exactly this. Some bloke called Archey. Massive deja vu on the replies as well. We’ll be fine this season. Quality is clear to see alongside the potential and returning players.
The club will be trying to invest and trying to strengthen. I bet by the time the window closes, we'll have at least 2 more players in, and once these Belgian lads are finally able to play, even our bench will look much stronger. On deadline day last summer we signed 3 first team players. On the one in January, we signed Daryl Dike. I'm confident we'll still strengthen.
