Such a shock that the family club of the year would act this way..... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/cardiff-vs-millwall-crowd-trouble-24810696 Rowett hates the knee as well, which is all the more reason to do it to piss off that club.
Hardly any segregation between home and away fans there. Meanwhile at oakwell we have a different postcode for home and the 26 away fans we allow entry to
Misreporting. Millwall were fighting stewards and police, the line of stewards is going through Millwall fans. The Mirror have dressed it up as Cardiff and Millwall either side of the line, which is false. Bit of clickbait for them though I suppose.
So it's OK to be fighting at a football ground then? No, thought not. Family club of the year my ar.se
"Taking the knee has been booed by Millwall supporters in the opening weeks of the season and manager Gary Rowett recently suggested the movement was ‘causing a rift’." No sh*t Mr Sherlock
Taking the knee has been well received at oakwell tbh I was fearing the worst but met by a large applause on both home games.
You can just imagine the interview for any manager at Millwall: “Right. First things first. This is Millwall. No one likes us and we don’t care. You will need to back the fans actions unconditionally, whatever they say or do”
There was still hardly any segregation between home and away fans though, I think there were around 30 empty seats between two sets of fans with the worst reputations in English football and a grand total of 12 stewards separating them too. At oakwell on Saturday there will be around 80 seats, the corner of the pitch and a void between stands too.
Amazing, isn't it... if only there was a way to stop the taking of the knee... Oh wait. There is. Racists stop being racist. Then we won't need it anymore.
I'm not sure 'don't be racist' is a hugely political message. But by all means roll that guff out again.
Because some footballers kneeling ends racism. If they go down on both knees does that bring about world peace and end hunger?
No it doesn't end racism but it also doesn't cause it Pros: Shows solidarity with black colleagues. Sends out a message that racism isn't welcome. Is a public reminder to supporters. Cons: Costs a few seconds. Unless you can add some more cons in there it looks massively outweighed by the benefits to me.
Spot on. The trouble broke out in the centre of that lot. And as you can see, more than enough segregation - similar amount to the left of the photo as well.
