Yet footballers that don't agree with them should stick to football.

    LOL

In an interview with The Guardian last year, Botham discussed his plans to become more active in the Lords – and what he was most excited about.

“I’m enjoying it and will be at Westminster more often when we get back to normal,” he confidently told the newspaper.

“Especially when they are debating something I know about – like sport or the countryside. Not much point if it’s a trade deal with Japan.”

Ohhhhhh dear. Not the best first impression to give the public ...

One of the very things that will suffer most by a trade deal with Australia. All the small farms will be bought up by huge industrial farming businesses as they will be the only ones that can survive tariff-free beef and lamb imports from Australia. You really couldn't make it up could you?

Botham's countryside knowledge begins and ends with shooting animals for fun.

Sadly Bottom holds awful positions. I truly mean sadly, as a lad that attended that famous Headingley test ( on a day totally dominated by the Aussies) he was a man I looked up to. He’s long fallen from grace.

Did you vote for brexit, do you have dubious morals and do you donate to the populist party? If not, sorry, you're not suitable.
