I'm not surprised at all they've had hate mail. Think about some of the extreme comments you see on here and from other areas of social media and you shouldn't be surprised. The problem is that some people have made assumptions about him and his colleagues and those assumptions are, in the main, negative and judgemental. Judgements made without knowing all the facts. I hope to goodness that the biggest of those 3 piles his daughter was looking at wasnt the "f1ck off back to America" pile because christ knows what we'd do if they weren't here. Think the interview on the club site is brilliant. Comprehensive, informative, no holds barred and providing clarity on a number of issues which people have been vocal about. As I've said numerous times before, since these people have been here, we have a set of clear objectives, we have a joined up plan, we're sustainable, the playing side is evolving season on season, we're not breaking FFP rules, recruitment has improved, they've shown patience and they have perspective. I really do hope, and like to think, that we have a silent majority who appreciate all of the above, and that our Owners recognise that. Rather that than them believing that the more verbal minority represent the 11000 and those supporters all over the world who follow the Reds from afar.
It was a genuinely grateful one. It's hard to think of anything more detrimental to the long term future of the Club than the sale of the property assets to these owners; though I'd make the same point in relation to any owners. Conway says "the Club is the town" That's obviously complete nonsense but the underlying point about the importance of linking the Club/Ground to the Town is a good one. IMO that is best done where you do NOT give control of the property assets to a group of owners; particularly ones who have little connection to the Town, and who seem to view the Club primarily as part of their 'property' portfolio.
A Title here in the States is for buying things like a property, car, boat etc, everything has a Title. .A deed is something you can hold in your hand, a Title there is no document. If you have title, it means that you have the legal right to use, sell, alter, and enter the land. Since title isn’t something you can hold in your hand, it’s a concept — like being the mayor of a town. You have special governing rights in accordance with the law, and title essentially works the same way. You have unique authorities that come with holding interest in the property and bear title to it. If you own the home with someone else, then you have partial interest, but you still hold title.
How many big clubs just fold? I've no problem them selling excess land once they own it and have title. As long as they're true to their word and build a new West Stand and Supporters bar and improvement continues on the pitch. They own it it's theirs's to do as they see fit.
IMO a very clever interview, he’s done a few of these now. He’s been informative towards the fans, but I think there’s also a couple of subtle messages in there too. Nothing wrong with that happens all the time in all walks of life.
Genuine question, given the current climate and well publicised lack of funding from Central Govt, can the Council justify spending large sums on updating the ground etc?
Well, it's sounds like the club have provided evidence that they could turn the ground into a year round profitable venture. Council have ploughed money into much more risky projects in the past...
I'm glad Conway has put the ball back in the court of the Council. It must be hard taking all that unnecessary stick and biting your tongue all this time. Especially when you're as frustrated as he clearly is.
They left them in a better place financially and sold to the correct bidder. It's not their fault it went wrong on the pitch. Maybe if they hadn't balanced the books the club would have folded.
"They own it it's theirs's to do as they see fit." No they don't. IMO It's not their plaything, It's mine and the thousands who have invested heart, soul and ££ over decades. I suspect I'll be here long after they have de-invested.
What's it matter if a few fields are built on as long as the team is winning and the ground is renovated? So what if they sell the club.
No I’m not- I’m a fan. There’s a difference. i’m a customer of the Co-op because I chose to shop there. I could chose to be a customer of someone else. I have no choice with BFC. Maybe you do.
