No problem with bringing a loan in. But hope it’s not one of those deals where it costs us a fortune to not pick him if he’s not playing well.
Because we will have been constantly knocked back for players and this lad is probably 20th on our list
All things considered seems a pretty poor transfer window. We aren’t even sticking to our signing experienced players for their age criteria.
I think if we can't afford to get quality over the line. Then top loans are the best way foward. And why not use Schopp's buddyness with Pep to everyone's advantage.
I think this is too early to tell. In fact you could argue that you can only real form any kind of opinion on 25% of our incomings so far.
Just out of interest, why are we desperate for a left back/wing back? Our best player last season (apart from maybe Helik/Mowatt) is brilliant on the left hand side - whether attacking or defending. Leave him there.
Haven't the Citeh kids absolutely played us off the park in our last two games against them? And yet here we are moaning, as we do, about signing a talented kid on loan?
.... or maybe people are moaning about not signing a talented kid on loan? Although im positive that we have 2.5hrs to seal a deal or two and then we will see.
Come again? We've assumed this isn't a talented kid on loan, just like Morris wasn't a talented striker, Sibbick wasn't a talented defender, and Madds had never met a football before? I'm all for being inquisitive, asking questions, discussing the merits of something. But sometimes we come across as downright miserable and it's getting boring.
I agree but you have been around long enough to know how it it is here and in the Barnsley fan community. People moan we don't sign anyone, moan we sign too much youth, moan we sign an older player. People moan before seeing anyone play, after one game and even moan when we sign a great player who we know will move on in future to bigger and better things. It's the Barnsley way. But most of what i'm seeing now is peoples frustration that we haven't signed anyone yet. I have no doubt we will get moans when / if we do irrespective of age, experience, skills etc I don't think one or two people's comments at lack of talent is the general view but it is clear peoples expectations have been set to a more experienced player coming it. I personally will be happy with Gomes. But if its the only one a bit underwhelmed that we haven't strengthened more.
