If we've got more points at the begining of the next window than we had at the same time last season = Very good window.
    Same points = Good Window.
A few less but not in trouble = Average window.
A lot less and in trouble = Bad window.

Time will tell but at least we haven't sold a key player this window which makes a pleasant change

The success of the window can’t be attributed to a points tally. I think the majority of us know deep down that last season was a bit of an outlier and if, with all the upheaval over the Summer, we build a solid squad that is more top ten than bottom ten it will be another successful season.

We’ve kept the nucleus of the squad together after arguably our fourth most successful season in our history. That’s success for a club our size and contrary to supporter opinion for most of the Summer (me included).

To only lose Mowatt after a very successful season has to be seen as a good window.
but are we stronger now than the team that finished last season - it's hard to say. Probably not as we're still finding our way and two big signings have not kicked a ball.
If the Belgians have banged a few in by December and we're in 8th or 9th I would say good window.
If they don't make an impact and our short comings in CM and striker are exposed and we sit 16th come January, then obviously bad window.

another way to look at is that a new gaffer has come in with new ideas and new style but has not bought players to play it...thus relying on players who excelled under Ismael, who may not be comfortable under Schopp's preferred style. A good manager looks at his players and adopts a style to get the best of out them. Such as not playing out from the back if your don't have Rio Ferdinand or Stones in your squad. Failing to buy players to fit Schopp's style may be his undoing. Who knows.

I would say successful providing the two new strikers are any good.

Its a question that cant be answered yet. Lets recheck at a Christmas. We look to have a better squad than start of last season lost the experience of Mowatt and Solly but most players in our squad now have the experience now of games at this level. Man City have had 44 ins / outs in this window and signed Grielish but some people saying it wasn’t a good window as they missed out on a top striker. Yet they are scoring for fun right now. Only time will tell but we have rebalanced the squad. I think moving some out is good for everyone and makes space for the coach to focus. We have a new plan which wont be instant success so patience will be needed and time for the players added to adapt. We have had a good start to build on and on paper we look better equipped to do it.

I’m with Loko on this you can’t assess based on points and league position compared to last season alone.
With a pragmatic view, I see it like this
We’ve signed 5 players for the First team
4 of the First teamers it looks like will be regular players at this point(Cole maybe the exception).

Are they as good as the players who left is the next question, probably not initially?
Personally I think it is impossible to replace Mowatt short term, but Dike not so much.

That said perhaps it’s like Dean Smith said, he can’t replace Grealish but he is looking to improve the team overall and I think our Midfield & Striker options are stronger than last year.

Decent, remember Brittain, Woodrow, Styles and Helik were definitely going, we've kept the lot - another window where we have held onto our better players.

We've enough players coming back to have a comfortable season.

Reading the posts on transfers for this window is a bit Jekyl and Hyde.

Camp 1....It's crap. we had no significant signings and didn't strengthen the squad...
Camp 2....It's brilliant..didn't lose Woodrow.Styles or Helic as most thought we would and looking at Anderson.Morris and the 2 Belgian signings to come in plus the young exciting talent from City..

    Pick a Camp. I'm in 2...

Our history of selling first team starters in the Summer window is nowhere near as bad as you’d be led to believe if drawing your conclusion from what you read/hear.

    Good window overall.

Lost Mowatt which is a big loss but we had no choice in the matter given he was out of contract and they did all they could to try and keep him.

Lost Ismael but again WBA activated his release clause so we were powerless to this.

Aside from this we lost no first team players keeping the core of the good side we had last season. Added some quality with Benson and the two new Belgians look like interesting options and should add good depth. Gomes hopefully will add some more steel to the midfield which we needed.

We all would have loved to see a new LWB come in but didn't happen and we do still have both Williams' and Styles for that role.

Impossible to judge until we see Oulare, Iseka and Gomes. If they come good, then it's been a decent window. Disappointed to see Kane go, as I still think we might be a midfielder light and would've liked to see an experienced player brought in, similar to James last season, but appreciate that needs a specific set of circumstances to make possible. Maybe Hourihane or Morsy might've been potential targets on that front.

But, around 70% of clubs' fans will pick holes in what's been missing in a transfer window. Even City failed to land the striker they wanted. And after losing Mowatt and Dike without a penny coming to the club, it was always going to be a difficult window. Hopefully other departures have helped with the finances, maybe bringing the wage bill down a bit. Many clubs would be in disarray after losing the CEO, Club secretary, Head Coach, Assistant coach, various backroom staff, and Club captain. But we look to have stabilised a bit, hopefully will show on the pitch.

Positives = we have saved well over a million pounds in reported transfer fees, which will tide over to January and beyond; we have held on to key first team squad members, which shows the unity of spirit; we have a squad of decent championship quality and experience, probably strengthened further by the return of injured and the Belgians. Negatives = we missed out reportedly on key left wing-back targets and central midfielders, although we have very good players in those positions and a degree of cover, at least at left back; it might now look a bit dumb to have let Herbie Kane out on loan, as he was cover for centre midfield, but, if his Oxford exploration works well, we get back a fit player who has got his confidence and technique back in spades.

I am not over-fussed about missing key targets. We kept to our financial script and didn't get drawn into silly money blackmail games - well done PC. Sound squad. We should do more than survive. We will find out if Schopp has what it takes to move us forwards and establish us in the Championship.

This is interesting as you could also argue this is good in the sense we have sold players that help the club stay sustainable and a lot on that list went for a profit i would guess. Losing one / two per season is to be expected and as long as we profit, reinvest and stay competitive this is our model. It seems ok of late but its when we have wholesale exists that makes it hard. Is there a January equivalent list?

that tweet is a little misleading. Two first teamers from last season are not with the team this year - Mowatt and Dyke (three if you count Solbauer). Whether they were sold or not the team is weaker without them. and the huge exodus after 2016 even though they were all loanees.

Don't find it misleading at all. Current owners and previous owners have been heavily criticised for being a selling club, but you can't sell what walks away for free or isn't yours. In terms of our 30+ starts a season players the Summer Transfer Window has been way more kind to us over the years than some of the hysteria would lead you to believe.

You also can't be criticised for selling players because they're six months away from leaving for free, whilst also being criticised for not selling the player and letting him leave for free.
