McGeehan finally passes over the baton. Given O'Kane's post this morning suggesting that neither Andersen or Williams will be available either, not sure who would come in to do that role, of centre back off the ball and left back on the ball.
Deserved it no need very silly thing to do. On the plus sounds genuinely sorry so hope he learns from it and controls himself abit better in future.
It’s good to know that he has got into his 20’s as a footballer and it it takes a ban for him to learn that head butting is not allowed in football.
It's a deserved punishment, you can't be doing that. Just a shame the FA didn't think to punish Charlie Austin for the same offence. The lad that scored a 91st minute equaliser against us in the very next game. I'm never not shocked by the governance of football and its bias.
Halme playing in anywhere but the middle of a back three would be a painful watch. Think i'd rather switch to a back 4 and give the new left back a go.
Liam looks a fighter. A boxer. He is a quality footballer and an asset, but he is a hot-head. I'm impressed by his apology and I believe he will learn from it. However, we have seen a headbutt, a lifting of a player by his collar over by the touchline, and a general over-eagerness to get involved in argy-bargy. Whilst I have advocated a bit of steel in the team, it has to be controlled. He must learn that every move and tackle in the 2nd tier is analysed* and there is no hiding place. He must also learn that this is especially true at #TeamsLikeBarnsley , and that a team likes us needs to keep 11 on the pitch for 90+ minutes. * Unless you are a highly paid QPR player.
The Asst Coach has said that Mads is unlikely to be back for the first few games after the international break. He's doing well but not prepared to risk him too soon. NOT the best news is it?
What's up with Mads out of interest? Not read anything (although I haven't actually looked tbf). Is he due back soon? Edit: Cheers Tina.
Surly got to be Halme, left sided defender, its a straight swop.. If its not he may as well pack his bags and head off back to Finland. Also the perfect opportunity for Halme to make sure Kitchen dosent get his place back after suspension.
Out of interest Whitey, do you know if anyone at the club has asked the FA the question about why such a similar incident wasn’t punished in the same way? Kitching’s punishment is just - but Austin getting away with it stinks as we’ve mostly all said.
