WTAF Austin and what about the couldn’t punish Morgan ? I know it’s down to see if it’s seen by the ref etc
Ludicrous. But its only Barnsley. Twice we have been done in recent years, yet other clubs get away with it. McGeehan anyone?
No point moaning about the Austin incident. Yes he should have been banned, but he wasn’t. Presumably the ref saw the incident and thought it warranted no action at the time. Whatever, it stinks but it is what it is. That doesn’t mean Kitching should have got away with what he did. It was petulant, immature and if seen by the officials he’d have been red carded without doubt. For him to instantly try to claim the player had back-butted him also shows he knew exactly what he’d done and was trying to mitigate to get away with it. He’s done a stupid thing and is being punished, and the team will suffer as a consequence. He’s a young player, we can only hope it’s an instant learning curve from him. He’ll come back from it, as long as the contrition he’s shown on Twitter converts to actually learning from it and calming down. He’ll be fine. But I’ve no desire to complain about it - it was clear what he did. The fact they didn’t punish Austin doesn’t mean everyone else should get away with it.
No complaints from me. Kitching deserves the punishment, but please don't claim that we get treat exactly the same as other clubs. We don't.
Totally predictable and typical of the double standards shown by the FA. Just to clarify, I have no problem with THIS decision but the Austin incident was just as bad, yet goes unpunished.
That’s the point. Other clubs getting away with it. Not just on retrospective action on incidents like this - read the same for financial affairs and anything else. We know we won’t get away with anything so the players have to be more savvy
I don't think anyone's making the argument that Kitching shouldn't be punished. But the blatant double standards is ridiculous. Incidentally, if you Google "Charlie Austin Ban", you find that he's got previous for it as well. Even as recently as April.
Spot on, kitching should be banned but Austin should have been banned v us but wasn't and ended up scoring the equaliser double standards by the f.a again.
Have to put your hands up, and to be fair I think pretty much everyone said Kitch had been daft at the time, and say that it's deserved. It'll hopefully be a lesson that being the hardman means f**k all and let your feet do the talking. *However* - someone, somewhere, should be embarrassed at the inconsistencies in decision making. Just because we're used to it doesn't mean it's acceptable.
I'm surprised if people are surprised. Give an inept, inconsistent and incompetent organization a decision to make from a stupid, obvious (and recorded) misdemeanor as a club like us and the outcome is not only obvious but also true to form of past situations
How far off is Andersen? Him and Helik were formidable last season. Wouldn't particularly miss Kitching if he was fit.
Completely agree its the Austin decision that really annoys me - exactly the same offence - in fact if anything slightly worse but he isnt punished and Kitching is. I can accept inconsistency from the ref during the game where he needs to make an immediate decison. I cant accept it in after game reviews thats just wrong. Wonder if Austin would have been treated differently if QPR's next game had been against West Brom
It was daft from Kitching at the time. Probably even more regrettable from his point of view now that Andersen is nearly back and will probably just take his place in the side.
