First thing I bought before any records. Cleaned each one but ditched 2 as beyond salvage. I did pay top whack for TeaForTheTillerman as I didn't want to risk a dodgy copy. That Cat not Yusef.
My grandma emigrated in 1984 and got all the family round to claim stuff before she threw out. An almost entire collection of Beatles 45s went in the bin. I regret that to this day. I did get a Brass Elephant I had always liked though
I’m trying and failing to reign it in a bit. I deffo need to though. Postman is getting snidey about it.
Redundancy has forced a rethink for me. Going quality over quantity now, as the record collection is quite probably holding the house up. All-analogue only, mastered from the original tapes, not a digital process in sight. Speakers Corner, Craft, MoFi, Impex, Pure Pleasure, Analogue Productions....pricey, but stopping me buying all the new stuff that disappeared fairly quickly into the racks.
I need a record player for my old stereo stack - Marantz amp, I got a Sony one from eBay but it’s not got a normal power lead and I don’t know how to wire it to a plug!! Help!!!
Depends what they are in value terms. I’ve just bought all the Monkees albums that got a mono release for 11 quid.
Is it a US or european plug? An adapter should sort that. You'll need to make sure the turntable is earthed too.
I use near mint unless I’m skint then it’s a bit of fairy liquid with water. https://blog.discogs.com/en/side-by-side-test-vinyl-record-cleaning-solutions/
I worked in a record shop for a few years back in the early 80s. Best job I've ever had. Help out at my little local shop every now & again - paid in free coffee!
