Had my first couple of listens to Warrington-Runcorn today. Predictably brilliant.

Was gonna take a trip to Wax & Beans. Surprised they are disorganised they are super efficient when you order on line. Might give it a swerve.

No don't. Coffee was off-the-scale good, Ben was really helpful & doled out a few freebies, plus it was an excuse for a proper crate-dig!

Yup, terrific shop. Aidy lives just round the corner from me. Often drops stuff off on his way home...

Have a look here mate. Has his own brew. He knows his stuff. Used to work for KEF. I bought a clamp mod off him and I’ve not had a single leak

Yeah I understand that but they were cleaned and played a few years ago.

I think 2 are Lumpy Gravy and Freak Out by the Mothers.
Have to have a trip in the loft tomorrow.

Cheers to y’all for tips on styli etc

I’ve got one. Spent 4 weekends cleaning my collection that had been in the loft for 20-plus years. Reasonable results but wonder if a more expensive solution might give better results.

it would but the pay off would have to be pretty high to justify it. I’ve taken a couple of expensive ones to shops to clean and they were relatively inexpensive and came up really well. Good always experiment with different solutions rather than an upgraded machine.

My parents have alot of the old Rolling Stones 45s. I remember making my own greatest hits tape with them when I was a teenager - paint it black, get off of my cloud, mother’s little helper, etc. Reckon they might be worth a Bob or two. Rescued my own original guns’n’roses lp from the loft last week with the art work which was banned from subsequently printed copies, seems that might be worth something n’all.

Yeah, great shop. Aidy & JP are top lads. Spend way too much time (& money!) in there.

Don't always assume that old = valuable with records. This is the mistake most charity shops make these days, hence the laughably-priced tatty copies of Rumours you can usually find in there. Such items sold in their multi-millions! You can pick up a brand new reissue for less than I've seen that particular album in some charity shops.

Same would apply to the Stones 7's - to even scrape the charts back then meant shifting some serious numbers, so there were lots of these things around. Mint condition on those, you're probably looking at £10-12 a pop. Well-played? You can probably halve that. The Guns & Roses might just tip you into three figures with a fair wind - usually lots of interest on that and as with everything, it's worth what someone's prepared to pay!! Condition is everything - even the slightest scuff on the LP or damage to the sleeve will bring the resale value down.

Solution - Groovinator. Tried many others, none have come close. Oh and having been a massive sceptic of the people using distilled or de-ionised water for the rinse process, I'm now a convert. It makes a huge difference.

Not sure whether this should be on here or Mr. C's thread, but I got this from Discogs earlier this week.

Good Lord, could have been an excuse for an Aire Valley Reds meet up. But I'll be in Whitby on the pop.

5 rise records is literally a 15 minute walk down the hill for me.
