Some great record shops in Brighton if anyone's been, just back after a few days down there. Purchased Les Revenants by Mogwai (lp) from Resident.
ive been trying to convince my better half to go but she’s not convinced by what she calls eerie film plinkity plunk.
I no longer have a record deck, so all the LPs that I collected have been languishing in a cupboard for at least 20 years. Until I opened this thread, I was sure that my next of kin would take them to the tip when I popped my clogs, but judging by what I have read, others could be interested in them. I am happy to prepare a list, but I need to be sure there is some interest before I go to the trouble. Please send me a PM if you would like a list. My personal taste was British progressive rock and folk.
As soon as I heard the opening strands of Hungry Face on the tv series I knew it was something special.
If you don’t get interest in here and want to list them on Discogs. Happy to help or do it for you. Prog isn’t my thing but always great to unite records with those that love them.
Brudenell Record Fair Sunday 3rd October. 10 min walk from Burley Park railway station. Anybody fancy meeting up gimme a shout.
All my Dad's Beatles Stereo and Mono LP's went in the bin with Paul Mcartney and Wings. Band on the Run, Venus and Mars and Wings Across America. Led Zeppelin 2, Black Sabbath Paranoid and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Shadows Mustang. My mum had Bay City Rollers, David Bowie, Toya, Fleetwood Mac and Kate Bush. All thrown out. Dad said it was clutter.
Hi folks. Just found a load of vinyl I'd forgot about in the attic. Would like some advice on where / how to sell them. TIA.
Used to use Norman’s but use Vinyl Tap these days, as I work in Halifax so can pop in and collect. Cost of records is expensive enough as it is, before adding another fiver a pop for delivery Shout out to Wah Wah in Wakey though. Al is a top lad, passionate about his music and a season ticket holder. I’m just never in Wakefield..
I know I get blasted for this, but I personally think the songs from Barrett, Madcap & Opel are still better than any Floyd work (apart from Pipers). Even their best non-Barrett album was a tribute to him Gilmour and Waters really do owe him their careers
Was meant to be up there for Besnard Lakes gig next Sunday, but just realised it’s been moved to next year. Bloody ell..
If you just want rid, most local record shops will buy collections, but at around a third of what they'll then sell them for in the shop. Selling individually means Discogs or eBay, but there's obviously the time involved, plus you'll need to be meticulous and accurate with grading the condition of the vinyl, sleeve, inner etc. Lots of online grading resources. Key thing to remember, and I can't stress this enough - don't assume because a record is old that it's valuable. They sold in their millions back in the day, so there are usually plenty around. As discussed previously, if you want to list what you've got, or send a pm, I'm happy to give you an idea what you're looking at..
