It's the fine balance of football, popular culture, music, politics and loads of other great and sometimes weird topics that makes this forum unique. If it was just football it wouldn't be as good as it is in my opinion.
If your wondering how much your state pension is going to pay you, and where you can find out at what age your entitled to receive it . Log on to the BSB . Lots of **** posted on here that's not always **** to everyone.
The BBS has never been a football site for football threads only. Nor were any of it's predecessors. It has always been , and hopefully always will be, a site that Barnsley FC fans use to discuss a myriad of topics, although for obvious reason football and Barnsley Football Club in particular cover the vast majority of threads.
A one point it only had threads about bummîng. And bummīng is even on the filter now, it changes to loving, that's why TFPs stopped posting
I agree with you but personally I would like the forum to have different sections & have one for football only threads & one for other topics ,but it certainly not an issue with me as I read every post but rarely comment on anything other than football .
I'm more than happy for the site to remain as is. If there's a thread with a topic I've no interest with, I simply don't read/post on it.
In a world of extremely partisan politics and news outlets, I find it particularly refreshing to be able to engage and debate with people of differing opinions to my own on this forum. I know some subjects don't always bring the best out of some of us, but I also feel that in the end, we all come together in our shared cause.
There's nowt happening on the football front so there's nowt to talk about in football terms that hasn't already been discussed. Hence cricket, golf, tennis, music, politics are the order of the day. I daresay there might be a football thread about the England v Poland game tomorrow so tune in then.
Ahem. Austria play Scotland tonight and I shall be going to the pub to partake in the consumption of a few pints while watching this said game. Obviously thousands of others in and around Barnsley will be doing similar.
We have posts on here about people in trouble, some with good news stories, people asking for help, sad ones whose doggies have died or are ill, and so many more categories too numerous to mention. It's about life not just football and that's why I love it. If it were simply about football this place would be so dull. I mean, what would we be talking about right now ? Surely not about England beating Andorra ???? I'm pretty sure that this forum keeps many people happy, sad, bewildered, angry and surprised but I'll tell thi, there are some very intelligent folk on here, some talk in depth about things I cannot understand and never could but I chuck in my six penneth and that's fine by me. Long may it continue as such.
