It's not a Monty Python Sketch. It was originally broadcast on "At Last the 1948 Show" but it was so good Monty Python "adopted" it. It never appeared on a Monty Python TV show but was used in their live shows. It is a brilliant sketch up there with "Tungsten Carbide Drills".
It was kept down the cellar, brought up on a Friday night and filled using pans of water boiled on the fire. When we were smaller we used to get bathed in the copper.
It was my job to cut old copies of the Dandy into quarters, put a string through them and hang them up on the toilet door. Very functional and cost effective.
