Is there a compere any more wooden than Paddy McGuiness? Reading every sentence off the autocue. Pretty useless at the fake interview as well. Massive own goal by the BBC in trying to change a tried and tested format.

So many good sports presenters could have done that. Any of the TMS lot would be great. But hell.. Chiles would be a much better shout than this plank

That program was in free fall. But McGuiness is not the person to save it.
Maybe it’s time to just consign it to history.

Don’t no why they thought they had to go down the comedian route if I’m honest it doesn’t work for me.

I quite enjoyed Phil Tufnells charades but I think this series will see it off. I've watched it from the very beginning with Henry Cooper and Cliff Morgan but I doubt I'll bother watching it any more.

I used to watch it religiously in the 70’s and 80’s. Must admit i had got a bit bored with it and only watched it occasionally with the last line up even though I thought they were all good in their roles. Guess I should try one of the new series to see if it is as bad as everyone says. I’d have thought the 2 captains would OK but I don’t understand Paddy McG as host.

Last time I watched it was when bill Beaumont was captain. I remember flicking it on more recently, and Matt Dawson was riding round on an ostrich, like Bernie clifton. Lasted about 10 seconds

Refuse to watch anything with Paddy McGuinness in it. An egotistical prawn if ever there was one! Ruins everything he touches IMHO!

He’s done one hell of a job of making a career out of having a successful best mate

I’ve watched it most of my life just through habit. I used to love the what happened next round.
It had grown very tired so I can see why changes were made.

Not seen Paddy version yet but do like him as a presenter/comedian so will reserve judgement.
He has 3 autistic kids and appears to be a great dad and good bloke to me.

I've heard a few good things about him over the years too. Few mates met him on nights out in Manchester and said he was down to earth and a good laugh.

He works well as a presenter on Top Gear where it's 3 lads messing about... But he's not suited to being an autocue reader. It just baffles me why they would overlook all the great sports presenters out there

They've ruined it.It's not just Mcguinness but the team captains knowledge of sport is way behind Tuffnell and Dawson.I also miss the charades as well.

They’re obviously leering over at League of their Own, green with envy, and trying to replicate something similar in terms of presenters and captains. Also taken a leap from where they were on the diversity front as well with the new captains, which should be applauded and something many on here are quite quick to criticise other shows for.

I haven’t watched it in years because my opinion of Matt Dawson is pretty post watershed, but take me back to Bill and Beefy or Parrot and McCoist when it was a proper sports show, really high profile guests, and funny without them all being forced in to stupid antics and bonus rounds.

There’s also a chance I’m getting old and nobody under 30 wants that. But then does anyone under 30 watch anyway?

About as funny as Citizen Khan. Another BBC masterpiece.

The lack of a studio audience doesn’t help, but no it just does stand up at all. You can see what they’re trying to do but there’s no chemistry between the captains/ presenter at all. Doomed to the trash can.
