Forest have lost, over the last two years to 2020, around £40m. Have combined debt of over £70m and that is after a £20m debt for equity swap. As a financial entity they are a bit of a basket case without their wealthy owners backing. However, the fact that their payroll is over £38m and key directors are paid close on £1m may make the proposition somewhat more attractive.
They’d just done the ground up at that point with the Euro 96 funds then? Don’t get me wrong, they were trying to sell to me as much as I was trying to sell to them, but their plans for redeveloping one of their stands looks incredible. I was more just trying to give an opinion that it would be a step up and career development for Dane to move on to a club like that, especially when they appear to have all their ducks in a row commercially with plans to completely knock down their Stand (the old one to the left of where we would sit).
Yeah I’m sure you’re right but if you went on a tour of a dozen of what I would call pre PL “traditional old school division one” clubs then you would come away with a similar impression. One thing we can agree upon is if this report proves to be unfounded there will inevitably be interest in him from some quarter eventually. It may very well come from the MLS.
Funnily enough, and I’m not at all biased, but I wasn’t impressed by my tour and ‘sell’ at Leeds United. That place needs knocking down
Forest supporter I know reckoned that if they lost today they had Wilder lined up to replace Hughton.
