Contrary to popular belief, relegation wasn't confirmed after Saturday's defeat. Having already played the sides who currently occupy 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th and 4th in the league (and only losing to one of them), we now travel to the side sitting in 3rd. Stoke have played 5 and won 5 at home in all competitions. All of those league victories have been by a one goal margin, 2 of which against sides currently occupying the bottom 3. They did end last season without a win in 4 at home, however they had little to play for in those games. Historically, we have won once in 9 visits to Stoke. That was in 2007 when Istvan Ferenczi scored the only goal. In the last 4 visits however, we have lost just once, in arguably our worst display under Gerhard Struber. Stoke have dropped just 5 points this season so far, however have played quite a few sides currently near the bottom of the league. Ever the optimist, I'm going for a 1-0 win with Woodrow on the scoresheet.
I fear it’s back to business as usual this season, i.e. a lot of fruitless away days. If we persist with Oduor up front, Styles in midfield, and a couple of inexperienced centre-backs alongside Helik, we could be in for another pasting.
2 nowt Potters, yet another lack lustre performance, place goes into meltdown….. Cries for “Schopp Out”
Bleedin Champons League night innit, no chance of finding somewhere in this little town in Crete to show our match when all the big Euro teams are on. Bugger. We'll bloody win now an all.
So, we’re not persisting with it. We’re just picking the best available? As it is, I’m predicting a comfortable home win.
So this can go one of 2 ways another lacklustre performance and a 2 or 3 nill defeat or we can come back and put in a good rebound performance Head says 3-0 to Stoke but optimist says we will grab a 1-1 draw. Brown is certain to score so stoke wont get nill Going with my head and hope I am wrong
