MARKUS SCHOPP ON STOKE TEST Interviews The boss offered his thoughts ahead of Wednesday night's clash with Stoke City. Continue reading on the official site...
Let's hope we go toe to toe with Stoke. We know what they're all about, direct, strong set pieces and compete for the second balls. If we can't match them then we could be in for a difficult night.
This is an important point. It was slightly masked last year because we regularly racked up 20 attempts at goal. Saturday... Wow. 2 apparently I can't even remember. Quality over quantity we always ask for, but, last year that quantity masked just how wasteful we can be in front of goal, instead of being clinical. I've lost count the number of times we are still nervous at 2-0 up, concede one and it's squeaky bum time. Very rarely do we do that ourselves when 2 down and make the opposition sweat. Anyways. I've said I'll give till February, and I'll stick to it. If that amount of time is good enough for a manager to be poached, it's also good enough to be sacked.
I'm sticking with what I said at the weekend and that league game 23 would be my cut off point. Just checked the fixture list and that game is no other than Val's WBA at home on Sat 18th December. Its simple, if we're in the bottom 3 and Val comes back to town and gives us an absolute pasting then Schopp needs to go, don't care how close to Christmas it is!

I feared the worst before we kicked a ball. I was optimistic with the start ,but as soon as we lost Morris I knew the knives would come out if the results went against us. I was struggling to find any positives from the performance against Bournemouth. I'm hoping it was a bad day at the office. Here's hoping we can repeat the first half football we played at QPR. Some of the best I've seen in years. It's going to be a marathon not a sprint this season, let's give this coach a bit of time to get the results. Morris will definitely make a difference when he is fit. Let's see about the others.
Problem with Morris it’s difficult to trust if he will stay fit he’s had a career littered with injuries which most he so frustrating for him when things start to get going.
Another myth. He had one serious injury when at Shrewsbury. Cruciate wasn’t it? In the playoffs. Unless someone can fill me in on all the other injuries that have littered his career?
I really think our season depends on keeping Morris in the side. He made a big difference last season. And as made a big difference this season since we lost him.
I'm giving him even less to be honest, soon we play blackburn, blackpool, millwall and forest i expect a big improvement in performances and to take points from these games. Right now we play like we have no style and look for individual brilliance for goals like styles v brum.
