We deserve to be where we are currently. Blame what you will, injuries, visas etc. But at the end of the day we have not been good enough, front to back and the guy in the dugout. We can all see that Schopp is out of his depth, bizarre lineups, poor tactics, no idea. I would genuinely get rid now as I can only see this getting worse. First teamers are missing sure. But I'd rarther a new coach was here for when they return so his abysmal tactics don't destroy their confidence along with everyone else's. Just my opinion ofcorse. *EDIT* I understand he asked for experience and the board have let him down, but he knew full well prior to taking the job what the parameters would be.
If I need to answer that for you then I'm afraid your too far gone. Aside from your objection to the one word in my post (bizarre), do you have any objections to anything else I put? Or are you picking on one thing out of 5 or 6 to ease the feeling in your gut that on current form, we are going down?
Playing Oduor as a forward. A player deemed not good enough even in his natural position by the three previous managers.
This is how I'm feeling the guy seems clueless but the nice side of me says give him more of a chance, think of the injurys, the visas, we have some winnable fixtures coming up see how they go. The more harsh side of me says, the football has been total garbage, why does he keep playing players out of position and pissing about with formations, we have a good squad held back by a clueless headcoach. I think by the end of this month if we haven't turned it around and were in the bottom 3 fans will turn.
I cant understand that one either he was signed as a defender, he probably offers more defensively than ben Williams but we play him as a forward, he doesn't win headers, he gets blown over by a strong wind, he can't shoot or finish very well. He's never a forward player in a million years but schopp keeps hanging him out to dry.
What's Oduor's natural position? And don't say LWB or LB because to many a fan he's had about two good games there ever. His ability has always been better suited to being further up the pitch. Not saying he's ideal in a forward three, just giving context.
Got the assist in the Birmingham game. Looked lively and played well in the QPR game. Awful like the rest of the team in the Bournemouth game. I don't think he's the answer but he's hardly the reason to be labelling Schopp every useless slur under the sun when the options on the bench have been almost non-existent.
Who are the players that keep being played out of position? To those reading, I know I've asked the same question in a separate thread but nobody seems to be able to answer it.
His footworks not bad and he has eye for a pass but apart from that he's no forward player for me. Cant win headers, can't hold the ball up, can't shoot with any power. Rather we had played victor.
We desperately need Woodrow to step up to the plate until we can integrate the Belgians and get Morris back.
That's the same Victor who has scored four goals in 50+ games, who has pretty poor footwork, no eye for a pass, and zero creativity or trickery in his locker. He can hold the ball up and head it - but the jury is out on the shooting. On that basis, is it that much of a clueless decision to have started Oduor in four games to see if he's capable of playing that position?
It’s ok having all these players but it’s clear to see that the quality isn’t there when they need to come in like they have now… I would like us to sign a few more experienced players so we’ve got a nice mix. All good and well trying to unearth these gems to sell for profit down the line. Kane has turned out to be a complete waste of money & I can’t see too many team’s knocking on our door for any of our players on current team performance. Maybe with the exception of Helik.
Must admit I am with you on that one. The only possible one is Oduor but when the options were Victor or Cole it was hardly an outrageous decision. And apart from Bournemouth I don’t think he has been too bad. My main criticism of Schopp is the players don’t seem to play the press anymore and against teams like Bournemouth that just handed the game to them. But you have to accept we are without more than half a team
I think bringing both on was overkill. But I could see he was thinking about the bombardment coming and the potential benefit from set pieces. Also, here's the subs bench from that game. If he thought the midfielders were spent or at risk of being sent off, who else could he have brought on in midfield? Ben Williams and Styles central is the only option he had that he didn't take.
