Derby County ( Why I can't stand em)..

The Rams, and Mr Rooney, crop up regular on here... What with the FA loving them ala Wednesday due to long ago glories methinks! Sums the FA in my opinion; old values and old links via old farts!

Anyhow; I digress....First shout has to be 81/82 when they deemed fit to charge us , Newcastle, Wednesday and Rotherham (mind still boggles on that one) the princely sum of £5 entrance fee to get in the Baseball Ground.

Second; I think it was 1983ish, I returned to the train station after what seemed a regular win back then, having been split from.my mates. Stood on the platform, by myself when *thump* followed by the words "Barnsley lovely person" ....Cue attacks on a few other fellow Tarn fans and the only escape was down the rail line. Thank goodness the police turned up! And we were coaxed back whilst others ran further on or leapt over the mesh fence further down.

When the Dev became the Beer Engine... been working in the morning and was giving the game a miss but was convinced to have a couple of pints with a mate. So I met him outside the top of Eldon Arcade and we opted for the Beer Engine....walked in and it was chocca with Stone Island wearing, Acquascutum head bedecked blokes! Atmosphere dies.... surely a few on here know the score (?) ... but we are welcomed by a couple of their lot at the bar and so style it out so to speak. .... Everything is fine in all honesty until, when we leave, we end up covered in spit and then endure a kicking by the doorway!

Lovely lot! There's more, strangely enough , but just wondered, apart from the obvious odious gobshiteness from them, what other folk on here thought?

I never had much of an issue with them up to recent times & their ridiculous overspending, culminating the the Rooney signing / wages.

Before that I didn't have much of an opinion. As I Brian Clough / Peter Taylor fan I have a bit of a liking of their early / mid seventies team.

 

If only we had got that win last season!

 

Anyone that carries out a completely unprovoked attack on another human being is absolute scum in my book. No punishment would be harsh enough.

 

Your treatment from some of their fans is disgusting but insert any set of fans from all clubs including Tarn who’ve meted out same sort of shithousery.

 

Sounds to me like you'd an attitude towards Derby and their fans which they repaid in kind. This is one of many things that turns me off football.

Got off very lightly if so. Basically one punishment for multiple charges, at the best possible time in the season to receive them.
