Anyone use one of these? If so are they any good? I get free BT sport with my EE phone package but watching a game on your phone isn’t always cracking, heard about these devices before but just wondering a they any good, do they buffer etc and is the picture good quality? Ta
Chromecast are fine but I don't think you can cast BT sport from your phone when it's part of the EE package. I know you couldn't when I had it a few years ago.
I’m certain my mate does it like that, I’ve just been looking on web and a got impression you could steam through it
When I had it, EE blocked it from being able to be streamed. I had to watch many a champions League game on my phone.
We use chromecast. It's great. The one drawback is our poor internet signal in the sitting room which at least once a night causes the link between the phone and the chromecast device to drop out. I doubt you'd have thst problem where you are.
Some services do block it from your phone, there is a button you press on the app to 'cast' that is sometimes disabled. You can get around it by mirroring you whole device. The downside to that is that any notifications you get will also be mirrored to your TV for all and sundry to see. That got someone I know into a lot of trouble! The best way to use them is to watch whatever you're watching in Google Chrome on your laptop. There's an add in that allows you to cast a tab - I used it that way all last season through iFollow to watch the games - so if you can sign into your BT Sports that way rather than just by phone you'll be fine ... though you could just use an HDMI cable anyway!
I have chrome cast but casting quality was poor. Nowadays, I just go on to the BT Sport app on my television and sign in using my mates user name etc. I have Sky but don’t think it is involved !!?? Quality is A1 My knowledge is further limited I’m afraid
Chromecast great for me, I can cast from the NowTv app for sport. Just bugs me I can't cast Sky from phone for boxing (box office). And you can cast BBC live but not Channel 4 or ITV, you can only cast those on replay (if you're partial to a bit of Grand Designs and Corrie)
