Can understand with the style of play, but then we had a few mutterings when he was here yet we made the play offs, and had the most successful season in 20 years. They are still unbeaten and third in the league remember.
3 draws on the bounce though , it’s the style of play with only minimal returns that they are objecting to. One thought he might be out by Christmas!
It's interesting comparing the mentality between this season and last. Val's style in my opinion demands results. It's not pretty, but when we dropped points under Val, we got so used to winning that we saw it as two points lost and said 'teams have sussed us out.' This campaign - and I'm a glass half full guy - I get the feeling we are seeing draws in a positive light because we need to grind out all the points we can get. Nothing against Schopp by the way, and he's been dealt a really bad hand with injuries and players out. It's just interesting to compare this season and last, the two coaches and the mentality. I often think that the players get too much of a pass when a new coach comes in; obviously tactics and team selections play a massive part, but when players underperform or don't show the commitment that they previously did, it can't all be on the manager's head. I'm not aiming this at you by the way, just some thoughts..
Fek me in top of championship and complaining !? Fekin sense of entitlement ? Look where Derby are now . They’ve got shut of hangers on Val won’t entertain these sort of players . There’s not many managers with Vals enthusiasm and desire IMO . Burn in Hell Brom come home Val
Me too, if only to get a chance to actually watch us play under him in person! Last season felt a bit surreal in all honesty.
Some of our lot moaned when we were competing near the top under Val though. Moaned about the style of play, about the hoof, about a draw when we could have won etc. I don't think it's much different from what the Baggies are complaining about.
After the Chelsea game I went into every match thinking we have a chance of winning this no matter who the opposition were and haven’t felt like that fora long time before so fek em as far as I’m concerned.
Couldn’t agree more, would have loved to be there last season and would love him to still be here. It was Val’s way or the highway and that stood for something. It’s early days I know but I don’t know what we stand for/ what our identity is yet this season.
No point comparing to Val imo. Schopp is obviously different personality wise, he may be a keeper, steady away building in the championship. That's what I'm hoping anyway, getting a bit tired of changing managers all the time.
Whilst I totally agree with you the disheartening thing about our model is that the minute Schopp starts to come good, any club can trigger the buy out clause and we seem to go back to square one
