Their Uk publicity guy was Anton Brookes, who is from Athersley North and a massive reds fan and has been since youth.
Beat me to it. My blurb.. Sweet little Nirvana doc, on auntie Beeb, tonight. Not much time for the Grohlster, nowadays. But he speaks very well about the good band., No footage of the crazy London Astoria gig, I went to. Reading was the legendary show..
I've met Anton a couple of times and he told me the story that during one of the Nirvana UK tours he took a call from Kurt Cobain who excitedly told him "We are passing Barnsley"....what could have been eh.
Tarn lad living in Seattle owns a property with a basement which is an amazing studio (many great bands have used it, the Seattle sound pretty much started there). Foo's wrote a song based on it called Subterranean on the Sonic Highways album. He also appears on the documentary series. Nirvana and Foo's have some quality Tarn links. They're 2 of favourite bands which makes it even better. Didn't get to see Nirvana but seen Foo's loads of times. Dave Grohl is just an amazing bloke.
