Hang in there mate and stay strong. There’s a lot of BS talked on this site at times, but when something important comes along, it’s good to know there are many people who care. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people and ask for help.
If you ever feel like it’s all too much, please let us know. I’m sure there’ll be a team of reds fans to help and support in any way we can. You are taking the biggest step, which is realising the problem and reaching out. Any help you need, please drop a pm. As others have already posted, we’re all here for each other. Take care.
Please talk to us on here if you’re feeling like that again. Most of us aren’t professionals but we’re all willing to listen to you. Take care of yourself.
Just to echo the sentiments of all the others above. I’m absolutely certain that anyone on here would sit and listen over a cuppa as often as required to try and help in any way they could. I’m no professional but I know that Andy’s Man Club do a lot of really good stuff and they have groups all over the country. Keep going mate, you’ve got this.
We are all very glad you failed because we want you around for a long time to come. People don't always agree on the BBS on topics but if any of us needed help I think we all know we'd get it on this forum. I hope you get in touch with some of the links people have posted and they are able to help you
An excellent scheme. I wonder if there are men who would like to join in but find the prospect of being in a group a bit daunting. Talking about personal issues in a group setting can be challenging. Would it be possible for one of the established group members to meet someone who may be anxious about attending on a 1/1 basis before the meeting or at some other time.
One thing I can absolutely 100% guarantee is the support, guidance and help from these idiots I call my BBS friends that I have never met in person that I first hand have experienced on a couple of occasions when I've been struggling. It takes a massive amount of effort and guts to post something like this on here. You're at a low ebb, probably the lowest you ever have been when all you can see is the negative. But believe me IT WILL GET BETTER. When you're at the bottom there is only one direction to go in, and that's up. It's the courage to continue that counts. I echo everything that has been written so far and please please keep talking to us. Feel free to drop me PM, if nothing else sounding off to a complete stranger ain't a bad thing. Chin up mucker and remember after a winter always comes a spring.
I can add my name to that list. A number of times last year when I was close to the brink people on here gave me so much support. Things are much better 12 months on, but as a sufferer I always need to work at keeping OK.
Keep strong buddy. Not sure if you have tried but ‘Andy’s man club’ seem to be a decent bunch, give them a try mate if you haven’t already.
The state of mental health support is terrible. My wifes 3 monthly appointments have now been dropped down to a phone appointment "due to Covid" The letter she got said if she doesn't take the call she will be discharged from the service. Obviously this is a terrible approach to people struggling with mental health and they may be struggling with anxiety and unable to take the call for example. I'm assuming it's just a sign of how overwhelmed the service is.
Unfortunately this is now common place, face to face appointments are now for those in immediate "crisis". The triage system in place is necessary, due to lack of resourcing and adequately cross trained staff. Our counsellor's are at breaking point, then the question is who counsellors the counsellors?
Yes as I said guessed they were st breaking point. It's terrible to think how many people will fall through the net on this policy and some of those will sadly lose their lives. Face to face appointments for only those in crisis will likely just lead to more relapses. Not blaming any of the hard working incredibly patient staff with have dealt with but the system and I assume the funding is pathetic.
