Those criticising AJ are completely disregarding how good Usyk is. The media might have led everyone to think this was a fight in AJ's favour but it never was. Quality skills on show by Usyk. He's never lost. Never been hurt. Never in trouble. Always in control. Deserved winner and getting the credit and spotlight he deserves now. Skills pay the bills!
Bad decision to try and stand and box him. Chisora worried him more, he needed to go to war. Make it ugly, against the ropes, hold him, all the nasty stuff. That's what Fury will do to him, in and out and learn on him.
Deserved victory and AJ can have no complaints. So much for a good big guy always beating a good small guy. He lost easily to a bloated up cruiserweight who looked nothing in his first two heavyweight fights. AJ should retire tonight. He doesn't need the cash and continuing he will just become the latest boxer continuing past their best days to tarnish the legacy they have built up.
Embarrassing from aj…chisora showed the way with the pressing and aggression. Aj thinks he’s something else talking about a chess match and mind games with Usyk, shocking
Usyk belongs in the same bracket as Mayweather, & Pacquaio. Honestly he’s incredible. I posted on here when the fight was made about how good he was & went through his resume & how he’s won every major fight in his opponents backyard. Joshua might not be a great boxer but he’s still very good, he can win pretty much every round against fighters like Whyte & Parker but Usyk’s something special. He deserves all the praise. If boxing was full of fighters with his attitude the sport would be a lot better.
I totally know how good he is, disappointed that AJ didn't slow him down and kept it centre ring. I know he's sparred with heavyweights regularly buts it's different in championship matched. Honestly thought Chisora did a better job. Usyk's a good guy, can't complain. Better than some of the idiots in the sport who drag it into the gutter.
everyone was raving about Joshua when he out pointed a 2 stone overweight Ruiz JR, for me he jabbed and ran off, then struggled to beat 40 year old Pulev
Not sure we'll ever see Fury v Joshua after that. I'm not a fan but IMHO right now Fury is head and shoulders above the rest
Usyk never struggled with Chisora by the way. He just got on his bike for the first 2 or 3 rounds whilst Chisora shot his load & then won every round after that. The main reason people thought he ‘struggled’ were Chisora’s mate Bellew & his ex-trainer Coldwell bizarrely scoring the fight for Chisora.
I didn't think it would happen even before this fight. There has been a lot of postering over the years and false starts but i never felt there was really going to be a Wilder or Fury fight with AJ. Anyway Logan Paul next up for him ;-)
1) AJ deserved credit for how he boxed Ruiz in the second fight. Nothing wrong with the plaudits he got on that one. 2) He didn't struggle to beat Pulev. At all
I never said he was in the fight, he’s not world level. I’m saying the pressing and aggression didn’t allow usyk to do what he does best which just killed aj
He was in fine form. Dominated Pulev, boxed Ruiz perfectly to get the job done, fresh, fit, good camp. No excuses on this one. Usyk was just the better man tonight.
