I saw reference to the challenge on MH potentially being a sending off.
Can anyone post a link to it (and was it a sending off offence?)

potential leg breaker i thought' the no foul decision was made worse by the ref giving a free kick to forest immediately after when palmer got the ball...

It's the reaction that gets the free kick. Helik stays down and our lads do nothing. Palmer tackles their bloke and 5 of their players run to the ref.

I don't like it, but we've got to me more streetwise.

3 goals all catching J Williams miles out of position.

Gabbidon was critical of the tackle, did say he'd seen reds given. Also suggested Palmer got the ball in the follow up.

I thought it was a red. You can often tell from player reactions afterwards. I personally think there was intent.

And Palmer got a booking, I think, for that.

You can tell that their player recognises it was an awful challenge from his reaction

To be fair to Williams he had their right wing back to contend with who was very fast and then in the second half they put another paceman in Brennan Johnson over to his side as well

This is the thing though. Is Williams out of position or should Kitching have moved over to have that man? Williams is playing wing back and we've just been on the attack. I love Helik. Far too good to be playing at our level long term. But after Frieser surrendered the ball then Helik has to clear his opportunity as well rather than hitting the striker. Crisis averted.

Not sure where you expect Williams to be for the second? Palmer is away with the fairies marking nobody and makes it easy for the keeper to get the ball 40 yards up the pitch in to space.

On the third, Williams has his man at the back post. Grabban drifts off the CB so Williams makes a late attempt to move inside and block the cross - but fails.

Williams could be forgiven for not being fully fit but generally speaking i think both him and styles when playing in the lwb position are guilty of getting sucked into the middle when the ball is in the opposition half which leaves them massively exposed when they break forward and their winger gets in all too often' i would like to see this vita kid given a chance he's lightening quick apparently and we are massively missing that in the lwb position ' 2nd half last night williams was like he was running through treacle and styles isn't overly blessed with pace either...

I feel for Jordan Williams. He's a good player in his preferred position but he's hardly ever played there.

He made Cavare look capable at the back last night... He didn't know what to do get tight or give his man a couple of yards to stop him rolling round him and away.

To be fair the whole team lacked discipline and anything resembling shape so I'm maybe being a bit harsh but it just seemed like he was at the heart of everything they did well last night.

If anything sums up the state of play in the squad at the moment, it's Callum Brittain's footage in the 3rd goal.

One of two players beaten by the attacking player, and he literally gives up and watches the goal get scored from there. Jasper Moon is at least trying to do something more as the play develops.

50/50 challenge in my eyes. Although, if your name is Hammill and you do the same thing to a Fritzl Wendy, you will walk.
