I thought the whole idea of Brexit was to take us back to where we were in the 1970's. All I can say is that it has been a resounding success so far.
can you even read? The article literally lists Brexit as one of the major factors in its first paragraph.
I can read it says COVID brexit and structural issues but I can’t understand how they can pin it on brexit when the rest of Europe who haven’t removed themselves from the EU are also struggling for drivers again it’s the industries who used the cheap EU labour who are forever blaming everything on brexit
One of the things the article doesn’t talk about is Cabotage, which the is listed by the TI as the main difference between UK & EU being affected.
Where else is the cheap Labour going to appear from? There’s unlikely to be a baby boom 20 years ago to conveniently fill the gap. The government don’t see any worth in foreigners who earn less than £30k, so where are you going to magic up the millions we’ve lost from the Labour market?
You keep banging on about shortage in Europe without any proof whatsoever and that’s mainly because it’s buncum and they isn’t any. There’s no shortage in Europe on the scale we are suffering posting untruths and exaggerations to TRY to make a mute point . Brexit has **** us up we can’t sign players , only the big clubs come out of this . Excuses excuses without any proof whatsoever your argument is made up **** .
https://prospect.org/economy/great-supply-shock-we-brought-upon-ourselves/ Looking like there's shortages in North America including truck drivers and bare shelves and that's a completely different continent . Decent article actually . Looking like they drunk the capitalist kool aid too .
There's two different issues going on here. One is the shortage of hgv drivers. There is a need for more of them in both Britain and the EU. But in Britain it's become a 'we need them yesterday!' need, where as in the EU it's a 'vacancies for drivers, please apply need'. The result of which is issue number two. Britain experiencing shortages of gaps of food in supermarkets, fuel supply shortages and gas shortages. The supply chain hasn't broken in the EU because of freedom of movement.
