Well it was you that’s wrote carved us up at will . The problem evident before half time was that on a number of occasions a single ball through midfield left us needing great defending (Kitching), Collins or the miss you refer to. Did you not think if we don’t make a change here we’re going to be in trouble? TBH I’m no shut up Schopp punter, I’m still giving him time but sticking to 3,4,3 is baffling me. Anyway Millwall Saturday and I’m looking fwd, enjoyed Wednesday if not the result. Onwards and upwards.
I said that in this thread? That was my first and only contribution? I wasn’t convinced we needed to make a change but we definitely needed to do something about how lightening quick they were down our right on the break. Even if it was to tell Williams to essentially forgo all attacking duties for a while. In that first ten minutes or so of the second half I was enjoying the game more than any other at Oakwell this season. Slim pickings mind, but enjoyed it none the less. Didn’t quite have the same feeling when I walked out of Oakwell
I honestly think that a manager with any knowledge of the Championship would have tried to shut up shop (no pun intended), once we went in at half-time one-up. By his own admission we went out looking to kill the game off by getting a second goal. An extra body in midfield was needed but that’s not what happened. I’d have gladly taken a boring 45 minutes that ended in a 1-0 win given where we are at the moment. Whether he can learn from last night is a moot point.
Barnsley didn't look like winning even when they were winning. Loads of gaps for the opposition to exploit as the game wore on and the reds ran out of half -hearted steam. He should just say 'I got it wrong and on Saturday I'll make sure we're ready to go'.
We are the only team in history that play with zero width but nobody in the middle. Its absolutely astounding to watch.
So where do we go with that. The coach is blaming the players. Are they not good enough? Were they carried by the players who have left? Or do we have a young and probably limited side for the league we are in and last season we were brilliantly organised and drilled to maximise our potential? Either way seems the current coach is saying the players aren't upto the task. So do we give them time to adapt to the new style or do we get a coach in who will organise them differently. Because clearly the one option we won't take is to change the recruitment process
He’s probably losing the dressing room at this point. Another bad performance against Millwall and he’s got to go for me.
I don't think he ever had the fans (I don't speak for all fans but certainly a few myself included haven't taken to him). After Val and the achievements of last season the next guy had to have charisma and be a winner.
He's not accepting any responsibility at all. His team selections are poor his formation Is poor substitution are poor and his man management is not existant
Has he ever had it....regardless of the result I'd like to think Conway and Co will grow a pair and get shut of him.....can't see it though.... reckon he's here until January
He's absolutely clueless and incompetent. I'm staggered that posts have been cropping up over the last few days attempting to defend Schopp and argue the case for giving him time. He's useless.
