I love Brittain and think he was exceptional last season. I also think Schopp has left a lot to be desired for this season. But honestly, Callum Brittain has been absolutely woeful this season.
He’s not the only one. Looked to have a couple of on field rants today, so maybe he’s as frustrated as the rest of us. I think this is where the senior pros can help, but we don’t have any.
As players mature, they take more control & on pitch responsibility. Young players need managing. I don’t like criticising anyone, but Markus is clearly failing at his job. We have young players who are far more important & valuable than the current manager. & it’s a big season for a lot of these lads, to establish their careers at this level. There’s my tuppence, for it’s worth.
Totally agree, since when is the scoring ability of your wing back/full back such a big issue? Eaden made 550 league appearances and scored 13 goals, bag of shiiite obviously!!!!
I haven’t got time to list every single shot and chance. Was just using the most obvious from the big games last season. We don’t have to agree. It’s all about opinions. But I have a feeling Brittain has peaked at BFC. I personally don’t see him playing for a promotion winning Championship side or playing in the prem. Therefore I can only see him going in one direction. And you then have to ask yourself, is he going to be useful to us if we want to progress?
He is 23 and you think he has peaked and will only get worse I think I have to disagree and think writing off a player his age after a few bad games under a clueless coach is abit daft
Brittain and Woodrow today have stuck there heads out of the trenches and both statements will have a big impact on the coming weeks. Brittain nailed Schopp and Woodrow the barnsley nobheads. It might help bring everything back in line.
And let’s be honest, football has changed. The traditional full back with attacking ‘goal scoring’ wingers in front of them, have been replaced by ‘wing-backs’. So surely wing backs have taken on the role of providers and therefore should chip in with goals. It’s not essential, but if you repeatedly get chances and fluff them, you will quite rightly be criticised. And eventually replaced by someone who can take them.
I didn’t say he was only going to get worse. I was simply saying I can’t see him leaving us and going to a higher ranked club. And therefore feel he’s playing at the highest level he will play at in his career. None of us have crystal balls, I’m just sharing an opinion. And therefore if BFC want to play at a higher level, will he be good enough to play for us at that higher level. That’s all.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p09xl4r6 Didn't say a thing wrong. Lovely and refreshing to hear an honest interview for a change rather than same old generic media trained answers you here 99% of the time up and down the country.
Our full back/wing backs career goals: Clarke Oduor: 1 Ben Williams: 1 Jordan Williams: 2 Remi Vita: 2 Callum Brittain: 5 I can see why Brittain is the one who is written off as unable to score...
Think you forgot Styles. He’s got 6 I think. But all his goals were at Championship level and for us. Think we are best coming back to this discussion at the end of the season. At least then it will based on what he’s achieved and if he’s improved etc.
He was good enough to play for us in one of the highest league finishes in our history. If you're expecting us to have a team full of players better than that, well......dreams can be wonderful things.
I wonder if the boss is asking for more sophistication from young Callum than was asked for last season, Maybe he doesn’t understand his role. Or it could a case of ‘there is non so blind as he who will not see.’
i wonder who will be gone first, plonker schopp or Callum for telling the truth, because conway will not like that
Very honest of the young man. Paints a picture of the players not being happy or clear about what the coach is trying to do.
