Speaking of driver shortages this one may be up for the sack.

Anybody with half a brain wouldn’t take a double decker under that bridge,I would have a bit of concern taking a single decker under I know it would go under but it’s just in your mind .

Looking at the distance travelled must have hit it at some pace too

When I worked for Tracky we had a lad did a school run to Kingston School and then take his bus to depot on Sheffield Rd for some reason he went down Summer Lne and as he had a double decker he left the top deck under the railway bridge took his lower deck to depot dumped his bus and was never seen again

Assuming the driver was following the designated route, some responsibility has to be shared by the person in charge of planning which vehicle is assigned to which route.

This should have been avoided before the bus left the depot.

I think that bus route is the Ryhill service which is only a single Decker. I'm presuming this was some kind of test run because there were no passengers upstairs.

As far as I know 59 is still Wakefield service and Tracky/Stagecoach haven’t run to Ryhill for several years

I've got the feeling that this might be the mechanics from Stagecoach taking the bus for a road test after repair .

    Test run?!

"OK, we all think we know what would happen if we send a double decker under a bridge which is 6 foot too low, but have we ever actually tried it?"
