Looking for somewhere to take my parents out as a bit of a treat as my dad's done some work at ours recently. We're not into anything too fancy, and we've got a 10 month old who will be coming with us so needs to be suitable for her. It will also be a Saturday/Sunday afteroon job rather than evening due to the baby. Any recommendations?
Elephant and Castle at Hemingfield Bothy at Wentworth Garden Centre George and Dragon Wentworth Mill of the black Monk do a lovely Sunday dinner, cracking pint of Blue Moon as well.
The Marquis near Upper Haugh. Then there's the Ring of Roses in Kimberworth. Rockingham Arms was nice too.
Hide and Hoof at Yummy Yorkshire is decent enough and not too fancy. Thyme Bistro at Cawthorne garden centre also decent. Both good afternoon choices. If you want something a bit more upmarket, Strafford Arms at Stainborough or Pickled Pheasant over at Holmbridge (nr Holmfirth) decent.
We went to the Elephant and castle last Friday night and really enjoyed it. The only problem is , when did burger and chips become an £18 meal. Twas nice tho'.
It is expensive, but really nice snap. The Bothy at Wentworth garden centre is cracking, locally produced ingredients and bottled Bradfields. Bit more expensive than most places but the setting is lovely and food is beautiful. Service is outstanding.
