The number of spectators that you can let in probably doesn’t justify the cost of keeping it open.

"They have recommended a range of remedial measures that the club should action to meet their responsibilities as tenants, but there are no current concerns about the physical infrastructure at the ground."

    Wow, just wow.

I only enjoy my popcorn if it's other clubs involved!

Agree. I sensed yesterday it could be an attempt to open a new front of litigation as a negotiating tactic:

I'm obviously just speculating. But anyone with a decent business brain would be trying to operate three stands in current conditions. We should have done that from the off this Summer really rather than the mess we're announcing right now.

Is that a serious point. We're a championship club - who should be operating with 2 and a hall stands?

Absolutely, I understand the logic. Doing it two months into the season when people have been sat in that stand for decades and have financially committed to it for 21/22, however, is disgraceful.

This smacks of one side trying to put pressure on the other if I'm honest. Toxic.

But what does that mean? What are the remedial measures and what do they cost and what happens if they aren’t done?

    Another very selective statement imo

How many people are in the West Stand? 1,000 if that? Easily re-homed elsewhere in the ground - although that doesn't mean it's convenient to them or fair.

In the meantime you've suddenly created a 'surplus' of stewards that we're claiming to be short of, probably saved on police costs, staff costs, energy costs, cleaning costs, etc. Maybe this then allows you to sell more tickets in the North Stand and increase overall revenues on a match day whilst also reducing your costs. Win win financially in this hypothetical scenario.

So it us west stand season ticket holders who are getting messed about by wonderful owners, I never doubted that it was safe to use otherwise the press box would have had to shut at the same time, its a pity this did not come to a head in the summer when they were taking our money , I feel totally sick to the back teeth with this & I am pleased that the council have made this statement at least there is some clarity as to the safety issues , we are getting fed a load of tripe by the club , I am totally disgusted .

That explains the vague wording from the club some honesty would be appreciated here why are they closing a perfectly safe stand and moving 1100 of the longest serving fans to the worst seats in the ground
its not because the stand is unsafe as they implied but didnt actually state
It can only be a financial decision as its cheaper to shoe horn fans into 2 stands there may also be a benefit of relocating stewards to the away end to increase its capacity
to do this mid season and mislead people as to the reason is an appalling way to treat your loyal customers. In any other business we would just take our custom elsewhere

100%. I just meant if you were viewing it with no emotion it's a sound cost cutting idea. Just not ten games in to a season when tickets have been sold. Amateur at best. Disrespectful to the customer base as well.

But why not do all this before the season atarted? Have they even spoken to the powers that be about home supporters in the North Stand?
