[Official Site] CLUB STATEMENT: RESPONSE TO BARNSLEY COUNCIL

Airing views and wildly throwing about blame are completely separate things.

Never once during this entire discussion have I said that people can't air their views, unless you can point me to something I've missed?

And yeah, when I asked to have my account closed last time was when Stendel was sacked, and as it happens it came out he was talking with another club behind our back but then he still happily came back to work for the same board. Seems again, that my opinion that people should show restraint during these times isn't such a bad idea.

Actually it's all my fault. For years I used to post along the lines of "all decisions made by the club are formulated to annoy as many fans as possible". It seems they may have misinterpreted my sarcasm as advice, and taken it.

And there's me thinking it must be the fault of the usual scapegoats Callum Brittain & Cauley Woodrow. :D

No offence, but just have a quick re-read of my post.

I was talking about the deceit and mismanagement of the Board over 4 years. The farce that is happening this week is simply the latest manifestation of Fawlty Towers.

The real point of my post was the fact that some fans seemed to have no empathy, no understanding of the treatment of fellow Reds. It feels like a group of supporters have stuck their fingers in their ears and are chanting “La, La, La, I’m not listening to you until Nannan tells me it’s ok”

Just look at 4 years evidence. It’s not going to be ‘OK’.

They are business people Mr Gimmer. But they're not amateurs they are professionals.

Money. It’s all about money and nothing else.

I’ve worked with people like this and still find it hard to understand. Yes, you could invest. You could have some kind of vision. You could take care of your customers. But when your sole focus is to sweat your assets for short term gain you don’t need to. Just tell everyone what they want to hear. Get the ST money then forget them. Get a new manager with promises of investment, then hang him out to dry. If he gets a bit stroppy get rid and get a new one. West stand? Never explain, never apologise.

And when things fall apart, they’ll deflect the blame onto everyone else. I could write the script. It used to be my job.

To be fair, so are absolute nutjobs (not saying you are one, but they are also in the minority and you like facts).

Nothing wrong with showing restraint at all. It's sometimes a balanced, non knee-jerk way of responding. In this instance though I think you're being a bit patronising in implying you're the sensible one and others who are criticising the club are being a bit silly. As others have pointed out one has to look at the track record of what the owners have said and done regarding taking the club forward, settling all monetary disputes and relating information to fans. It's no wonder fans are disgruntled and worried about the club long-term. They are expressing those concerns on here.
As far as the statements go and your previous comments about not knowing anything it's the council which has been clear. The owners have not. They have merely issued a statement which tells the fans nothing at all of any substance.
If you wish to continue waiting and watching without having any strong opinions either way that's up to you but I do think that the majority on here who are critical of the owners are critical of the owners for several reasons and if you read various posts on this thread you will have a clear understanding of why. To dismiss people on here for having no restraint is therefore, in my eyes, as I said, a bit patronising.
    Cheers

With regards to our owners, I think most people would give them the benefit of the doubt if this was a 'first offence'.

But after four years of off the field truth twisting, I'm not sure they deserve that benefit any more.

If I come across as being patronising, then I'm sorry, that really isn't my intention.

I'm sure it's not. It's also sometimes difficult on a forum like this to make points when you're in a small minority as you appear to be on this one so fair do's for sticking to your guns.
We're all Barnsley fans at the end of the day eh?

I mean it's factually correct - there were inspections and then it was closed. It just implies causation, it doesn't state it.

It's perfectly valid for me to say that the other week I threw up after drinking a glass of water. The statement is true, but it ignores the 12 pints and dodgy kebab.

Separate point that no body even seems to answer when it's asked, why would you want your account closing?

Probably because it's personal and people that ask the question are strangers and it's none of their business?

Because coming on here is a habit, and having your account closed reduces the probability of you even viewing the board in the future.

People say: if you don't want to come here, then don't, but it isn't as easy as that. I would imagine that having your account closed is a big step towards breaking the habit.

eventually the clubs owners will have to fix it as it will need to be returned at the end of the lease in the same condition minus ‘usual wear and tear’. The onus is 100% on them not the council.

He is probably still being paid so the truth and falsehood is possible to ascertain. I’d imagine he is on gardening leave.
