LATEST STAFF APPOINTMENTS Club News Barnsley Football Club are pleased to confirm appointments within a number of departments here at Oakwell. Continue reading on the official site...
Its a pity they do not employ someone in the PR role ,minds you with public relations at the club being at an all time low the vacancy might take a bit of filling.
'Soft values' that's a new one... I can't help but wonder what Rimmo, rest his soul, would've made of that phrase!!
Meanwhile, the latest crop of interns recruited have been given a paint brush and a pot of paint (various shades of red), thus allowing us to announce that the West Stand will be re-opened after the match with Sheffield United, following an extensive refurbishment program.
Soft values, such as being positive, transparent and professional are characteristics I expect from all at Oakwell Yes, the last week has been a masterclass in transparency and professionalism.
Have they recruited someone for the "strucural" .....sorry scrub that they changed their story...."operational proceedures" to fix the west stand?!!
Isn’t it just how corporate distinguish between personality traits and your on the job skills? I’ve heard it a bunch. How soft values are as important, and sometimes more important, then the hard ones
Precisely. Corporate pseudobabble ain't gonna impress your average Reds fan in my experience. Makes me cringe anyhow.
I can’t imagine it’ll offend your average Barnsley fan either. Not after we’ve had divisional retention, bomb alley, and seasonal passes.
I know the club is an easy target at the minute, but surely recruiting in some key areas is a good thing?
Corporate pseudobabble – stringing together impressive sounding yet meaningless words, with the intention of sounding highly intelligent while deflecting attention away from the fact you know nothing at all.
It's a necessary thing, given we were so incredibly light with the mass resignations in the summer, compounded by another wave the last week or 2. It's not negative, but frankly given everything else going on at the minute with the club, I hardly see it as something people will see as an amazing thing and suddenly believe everything is well with the world. At best, it gets us back to a similar number of people we had a while ago.
Which, if things are as rotten at the club as many are eluding to, is surely a step in the right direction? I'm not suggesting appointing these people is a magic bullet, there are obviously some deep rooted problems at Oakwell, but it can't be a bad thing, can it?
Can't say I miss those although it seems little Lee is reigning his corporate speech in a bit recently!
