It wasn't accurately defined other than a knee injury, which he has never had before. I have had a meniscus repair in the past few years, before the op,I tried the rehabilitation way to avoid an op but ultimately it didn't work. There was a interview recently with him, where he described strength and alignment work. If he had keyhole surgery in the summer, he may have been closer to return than he appears to be, who knows? Seems a long time out for something that was described as not serious.
https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2021/september/andersen-interview/ 'It's been a frustrating time for Mads Andersen. Suffering a freak injury at the start of pre-season, damaging his MCL (medial collateral ligament), the 23-year-old central defender has played no part in the new campaign so far, after last season becoming a shoe-in as part of the Reds' backline.'
Folk seem to see Mads as the saviour and are clamouring for his return. If I remember correctly he was getting slaughtered weekly when crowds were in attendance. Short memory's. Good luck for your return Mads.
He often made mistakes when playing tippy tappy football but improved when we went long. Now we are back to tippy tappy so we will just have to wait and see.
I think under this system without Sollbauer people could see the 19/20 Mads. He's a decent no nonsense defender. I've always rated him. It's team orders that do for him.
Mads Andersen in this team with these tactics will be an absolute disaster. We have to hope that either schopp is sacked before he comes back or he completely changes his management style
