Yes I got much the same reaction. The vast majority couldn't care less about Northern Ireland. They also don't care about the fact that NI voted remain - and Scotland.

I’ve just read an exceedingly sad thread on Twitter re small businesses losing customers all over Europe due to the complications of VAT collection etc.
When Boris said fu ck business, he really wasn’t kidding.

Meanwhile the Tory Party conference is full of little Englanders talking about ‘freedom’ and ‘working hard’ and ‘building the economy’. It’s truly depressing.

 

Did happen to bump into Mark Spitz? Apparently he's a bookies runner there!

I've seen quite a few threads about small businesses who exported to EU countries. Several have highlighted a significant increase in returns where the parcel was refused at source and returned, seemingly because of the customer refusing to pay the VAT and customs charges.

Then we've obviously got the massive shortages across just about every industry you care to mention thats affecting general supply and suppressing demand, or at best lengthening lead times and increasing costs.

I suspect we're very close to an interest rate rise, and while those who are retired with savings will no doubt rejoice, those with variable or near end of fixed term mortgages and any other forms of borrowing that isn't fixed are going to start to feel another pinch.

Of course, it's all been expected. I know I've been talking of this very phenomenon pretty much since the referendum result. But it seems this is what people want and knew full well what was going to happen. Apart from roaming charges, they were particularly vocal that there was no chance roaming charges would rear their heads again.

 

Have you any idea what the problem is or do you have nothing to go on?

 

I thought that we voted leave so we didn't have to listen to the diktats of unelected bureaucrats... like erm, Lord Frost.

 

Such a massive coincidence that before Brexit everything worked and now it doesn't.

 

And the latest irony (which of course is nothing to do with brexit of course)... is that a government with their noses in the trough, alleging to make silk purses from sows ears and with a PM as thick as pig sh*t, are making such a pigs ear of the management of... pigs .

 

Mine ends in July and I'm about to pay the early redemption penalty to remortgage and fix for 5 years now

 

I think we've another 2.5 years on ours (a 5yr fix). Though we're paying the maximum overpayment each year of 10% of the value so when we do get to remortgage, any increase in interest rates is softened by the capital reduction.

 

After reading that,i`m a bit disgruntled.
