    I played with and against some good players at Dodworth Sty Hambey, Gerald Fisher, Harry Blackburn, there Geoff, Brent Newton, young Mick Wadsworth I also played for Phil Newtons all-stars under 18's won more medals than parson preached abart them was the day's :D

    Can't for the life of me remember which game it was, but I was watching some old footy games on YouTube and one featured Newcastle. What struck me was Pat Howard felled one bloke and had his hand around another's throat after being fouled.... he certainly didn't hang about! Lol

    Are you referring to the houses just past Mitchell’s & Darfield Pond (The Pit Pond) between Wombwell and Darfield?
    If so you are half right in that Ray’s future wife rented down there along with her friend who went onto marry Derrick Parker.
    Though that will be nudging 40 years ago.

    No, Mitchellsons Avenue Dodworth, as in the title of the thread, is Known by locals as "Mitch" these houses were pit houses for Dodworth Colliery workers.
