Well it confirms that it is safe to seat people in the stand and is fit for purpose. It must just be a huge coincidence that away ticket sales are immediately doubled in the meantime. The club has had ample time to respond. The CEO has also used the broken record technique to respond over the weekend. But no let's give them a third attempt to clear things up as two aren't enough for some reason. If you gave me a week or two to buy time and come up with a good reason I reckon I probably could too.
I would hope something as important and mission-critical as a Safety Certificate actually DOES cover everything.
Would you have refused to renew if the club had timed the closure for the summer, because if that is so, you can have a refund now. Look, I am not a spokesperson for the club and I have no desire to act as one. Just wait and see what the genuine spokesperson has to say before you react.
Yes, he deserves a chance, absolutely. But he must realise the strength of feeling around the fans at the moment and it's his job to communicate. If he chooses (or is instructed) to keep fans waiting, he can hardly complain that there are over-reactions and rumours happening. It would be much wiser to actually address the issues now (last week)!
My word - talk about assumptions. I can't remember the last time anything was explained in full or "the true reasoning" behind anything they've done was revealed.
Had we been asked to move stands at the time we renewed when there were only at the time 6000 ST holders I wouldnt have been overjoyed but could have accepted it and could have picked decent seats in the East Stand. To be asked to move mid season when there are no decent seats left and to get a half decent seat I cant sit with my Dad anymore or we could sit together NOT UNDERCOVER at the front of the ESL is a rather different situation and I very much doubt its one you faced
How long do we give him surely you give a clear explanation at the time you are evicting people not say you will explain in a months time to a select group of fans -and that is assuming we get a clear story then I genuinely dont know why we couldnt be told the true reason in the letter we got telling us we had to move
No, it isn't. The safety certificate did not cover fans sheltering from the rain during the last home game, for example.
You're not playing the game here. Only Red Rain is allowed to make assumptions. "I doubt it does" sounds very much like "I know for a fact it doesn't", doesn't it?
He has. There are any number of things he could have said in his reply to the Supporters Trust letter, but he's opted to fuel the fires of discontent by saying nothing of substance whatsoever. I put a complaint in to Scottish Power this week. I received an automated response, acknowledging my email. The CEO's reply to the Supporters Trust is the human equivalent. It ticks all the right boxes without offering anything worth reading. Thank you for your letter. TICK We really value you as a customer. TICK We're all in this together. TICK We understand your problem. TICK Our actions have been taken for sound reasons. TICK We're working to find a solution. TICK We'll provide more info at a later date. TICK Thank you for your patience. TICK
Well, I appreciate you don't want to admit you're making assumptions here but you clearly are. But even on the rain point, are you trying to tell me that the club have had to close 2 tiers of a stand because less than 30 people were stood behind the lower tier section of seats in the West Stand whilst it rained? And that there was no other option? Has it never rained while these owners have been in charge? This isn't an emerging phenomenon. Seems obvious to me that you just don't care we've been asked to move.
A. We have just had a response that gives us no hard information about the club's reasons. Perhaps that's why people are speculating. B. I've never been asked to move. The 'speculation' which you refer to re this thread is a result of the CEO and club not giving any details about the closure of the stand. It doesn't smell right. It seems underhand. It raises suspicion particularly in the light of ownership, financial dealings and transfer policy which the current board have engaged in. Bluntly, the fans have been 'patient' with this mob for 4 years now and want some indication that the interests of the fans and the community are at the forefront of the board's motives. So far the fans have had nothing to suggest the board care too hoots about them. Hence the speculation. The board don't deserve any more slack.
