We know how good most of the players are Collins - becoming one of the best keepers in the Championship Williams J - One of our best players under struber injured large part of last season so didnt feature much Sibbick - was keeping Solbauer out of one of the leagues best defences second half of last season Helic - Full international part of one of the leagues best defences second half of last season Britain - arguably one of our best players last season integral part of a top 5 team Styles - most think future prem player integral part of a top 5 team Palmer - suspect fitness but a regular last season Woodrow - Proven striker at this level Thats 8 who with the exception of J Williams had a lot of game time last season and not many were saying they werent good enough for the championship Add to those Benson and Gomes who both look easily good enough for the Championship in the flashes we have seen and Mads and Morris to come back and we have plenty of players who are good enough Iseaka may well be decent in a proper system Halme is at least a good squad player Kitching looks to have potential if properly handled Freiser is at least a good squad player There is not doubt in my mind the players are good enough for at least mid table but not under the current coach as he has destroyed their confidence and confused them all about how we should play biggest worry is either we keep him too long - or make another bad appointment - our current hit rate is 3 good 2 bad under our owners so there is a real risk they could get another duffer
My post was tongue in cheek. I agree with every word in your post. I'm still excited about Hondermarck. I thought he was outstanding on Wednesday night.
I'd say we've had 2 good, 1 so-so, 1 bad and 1 likely to be bad. The suggestion is they recruited Schopp outside the formula devised by James Cryne. Just as they did Morais as they hadn't created it back then. The successes seem to have stemmed from following that formula. If the relationship has broken down between the Crynes and ConLee, it may be a case that our next appointment is less likely to succeed too. And thats before we factor in the other mitigating factors going on off the field.
Does anyone think that this situation is all a cunning plan? The lack of action to start to put things right. The fact they have closed the west stand to relocate stewards/staff. Meaning many of us season ticket holders won't attend and as a result they can relocate even more stewards and staff to the away end! Most away teams at the moment will bring big crowds in the knowledge that they are playing a rudderless club both on and off the pitch. Expecting a big win. So it's a win win situation if all you are interested in is income and profit. As they already have our season ticket money. PS this post is tongue in cheek but I wouldn't put anything past this group of charlatans. All Conman said after our loss in the play offs was how much it had cost us to get there. I think this emphasises the point they are simply not interested in this clubs sporting achievement, only it's potential for making money by whatever means possible.
I don't have faith in faith I don't believe in belief You can call me faithless You can call me faithless And I still cling to hope And I believe in love And that's faith enough for me And that's faith enough for me
He is still with us. The blunts have a near capacity allowance on sunday. It is easy to conclude that Conway does not respect his own fans or maybe he just thinks we haven't got any
If anything it's good business though. It's 5hitty what they've done but closing the West Stand to get more stewards over to the North Stand increasing it's capacity was common sense. They've gained 3000 seats and it won't just be against Sheff Utd. Some big clubs will get larger allocations now. It's upset 1000 West Standers but it will gain money for the club in the process.
Maybe in the short term, just about. But wouldn't there be bigger general policing bills too for larger away followings? I recall the blunts game where we won 3-2 and the amount of police on the surrounding streets was nuts and well over the top. That will largely have had to be footed by the club wouldn't it? You've also the lost goodwill and the effect next season on season tickets, pay on the day supporters, food, drink, programmes and merchandise. You could easily be back down to sub 10,000 crowds again, and certainly likely upon a relegation. Much more effective to increase away capacity, maintain goodwill with BFC fans and commit to a short term programme to return to normal.
I agree. Just playing devil's advocate. However, relegation isn't being entertained so you'd think we'll finish comfortable midtable after Schopp takes us on a winning spree .
Hopefully that goodwill will return once the team starts winning again. If we are relegated they'll be able to put the 7000 season ticket holders in the East Stand and the Ponte End.
Not sure what you’ve been told but there was an opportunity at the end for refreshments which was tea, coffee, juice or non alcoholic beer and an informal chat with the staff and other members It was mentioned in passing the club might stock the low alcohol beer. There wasn’t any discussions
