It's bloody dire isn't it? Was nice today to be in Oakwell and have some football to talk about but sadly it's a real poor showing again and, as Loko is showing, it's very hard to separate the state of things off the pitch from the football today when you're seeing a terrible performance in a local derby looking across at a West Stand with seemingly hundreds of people in but no fans.

 

Murray didn't seem to need much time following Val though!

 

The way I saw it. Was that he came up to clap, got boo’d, so told his players to go and applaud and he walked off.

You could say he walked away to take the heat away from the players. That’s the way I saw it. He looked quite down-beaten when turned around and walked off.

 

He was undervalued by a lot of fans - and was offered a lot more money. Are you surprised he went?

 

Those two goals will have given him a bit more time. He'll be gone if we don't get anything from our next three games though. Just in time for a replacement during the international break.

 

Can't disagree with comments. Although what made it worse today was Blunts were awful. Had we played in form side it could have been a cricket score.

I saw it the other way in that the players came up first and when Schopp saw they were getting a decent reception he followed up behind them. But as soon as he did the crowed turned on him and he rightly made a swift exit.

 

It’s all about opinions but I can’t bring myself to feel sorry for someone who throws young players under the bus on and off the pitch.

Nor someone who hasn’t taken a shred of responsibility for taking a group of players who finished 5th last season on the clubs worst run in over 60 years. Always an excuse.

Nor someone who lies about players availability and fitness at every presser.

Anyone who came to the game today would be a liar is they could not see Schopp has lost it. Good on @Loko the Tyke for saying the bloody obvious.

As we approach the fourth anniversary of the takeover we find ourselves in the bottom three of the Championship, just as we were in December 2017. At Brentford that month we put out a team containing Davies, Lindsay, Bradshaw, Thiam and Harvey Barnes (!). Pinnock and Hammill came on as subs. (In the interests of balance, so did Ike Ugbo!). It seems hard to me to argue that the present team is any better. There appears to have been little real investment in the club, and it would seem that the ground has been neglected under the current ownership. Despite assurances that the playing style would remain the same regardless of the coaching personnel it would appear that we have abandoned a (admittedly pragmatic) style that took us to the playoffs for one that leaves us in grave danger of relegation. Furthermore, the loyalest of the loyal among the fanbase are beginning to feel alienated.

It's a sorry roll-call, and I think it is not the "negative nancys" that are calling this out - it's the realists!

 

I think you were saying you're not a 'happy clapper' if you don't want to believe all the negativity. I was saying you're not a 'negative nancy' if you are a realist. Two sides of the same coin, I'd have thought?

At any rate I don't think I've ever seen you as depressed as you appear over the current state of affairs at Oakwell.
