In a nutshell The owners want us to play a different style to last year so the players become worth more to the business The new manager and his staff can’t get this system to work The players cant adopt to this system The fans cant abide all the mess The owners wont react to the mess How do you fix it new manager before it’s too late who can motivate Cant change all the playing staff (and half of them were worth something from last year) Then there’s the ground, who is responsible for its maintenance, upkeep and change. It’s all broke, something as to give Step 1 surely as to be to try a new motivational manager, someone who carries respect, not someone you have never heard of.
I like your turning the barnsley badge upside down on your avi.... now if that doesn't sort the club out because of such an impactful protest, I really don't know what will!
Agree with all that; except why do you need a manager you’ve heard of to command respect? That’s just nonsense, you’d never heard of the last 3 managers, and all of them successfully met or exceeded expectations. My pet peeve on this site is the many who spout that only a manager or player with championship experience can do a job. given the masses of evidence which prove a foreigner can be successful, I’m curious what the motivation is.
The new manager and his staff can’t get this system to work I think it was interesting listening to what the CEO said, he wants us to be like Leipzig https://tacticandtechnique.com/rb-l...ensive-organisation-and-attacking-transition/ I wouldn't say they can't get the system to work, I'd say they've failed to try and implement it. A few highlights from the article: ====== The starting point is that they press as high as possible to regain possession as close as possible from the opposition’s goal. The first of Nagelsmann’s principles to transition from defense to attack is therefore to play forward as soon as the ball is recovered, whether by a pass or a carry. RB Leipzig’s priority seems to be to play a forward pass rather than running with the ball or dribbling. Independently from where the ball is recovered, their first objective is to play through the central channel as early as possible. The next objective is to get at least 3 players ahead of the ball as quickly as possible. Finally, players should try to take as few touches as possible to increase the speed of the attack. ====== Can anyone honestly say we're even trying to implement these principles? I'd say absolutely not, this requires hard work on the training ground and many hours of practice and drills, its clear from the rumors and direct player quotes that isn't happening. If the CEO wants this style, and the coach is not even trying to deliver it with the resulting dire results it makes you wonder why Schopp hasn't simply been told to implement this or get out.
Maybe Chien Lee and Paul Conways consortium will buy us, they love clubs in distress.... oh, hang on...
The motivation is needed because they are all on there backsides and plenty of them are good enough to be performing better and a manger you have heard of , and as a track record to at least appease the fan base who at the moment are up in arms. or what go to soccerbase see whose doing alright in europe and roll the dice again. thats what i think anyway.
I’ve no problem with the notion that we need a better manager. But I do have an issue with: The idea that a ‘known’ name would appease the fan base (that’d last all the way to their first loss). The notion the manager needs to be ‘British’, as the only motivation I can think of for that is xenophobic, no matter how anyone wants to dress it up. The previous 3 managers were all ‘unknown’ and foreign, they all met their objectives, why would we abandon the strategy that found us 3 successful managers out of 5.
Plus,Julian Nagelsman has now changed his style. This style of play was developed by Ralf Raganuck (?) and influenced a lot of coaches like Klopp and Tuchel. Good management in any profession is about looking at the personnel working for you and the best way to make them effective. It's not about 'top down' enforcement of a particular idea or ideology. It was obvious yesterday that when the team broke free of the shackles placed upon them at 3-0 down and played to their strengths. They looked a cohesive dangerous team. The players at the club have been recruited to play a certain way, now that same leadership is wanting them to play in a totally different way. That is poor management of a business let alone a football club.
I think they probably did and got turned down, don't think any of the previous were always first choice. Who with "a name" would come here now?
Didn't Val get the sack for taking LASK training during the height of covid? Knew he were a wrong un.
