24 hours later and the manager is still in charge after yet another inept performance. We must be in a very precarious position financially and not be able to afford to get rid, that’s the only reason I can think of why he is being kept around. I’m not usually one for sacking managers and think football and it’s fans are too keen to call for sackings but in this case it is most definitely justified. The owners pockets must not be as deep as they claimed when they took over.

Feeling really **** about the whole situation. Whilst we don’t have a lot of evidence to back it up I feel like the club isn’t in a good place either off of the pitch. These owners don’t seem to give a toss about the club (with maybe the exception of Conway, who at least shows his face now an again) the new CEO seems more interested in some sort of asset stripping exercise than getting results on the pitch- the brief for that must have come from the owners. Before anyone starts I know the club self sustains by polishing young diamonds up and selling on but who in their right mind would want any of our players at the moment.

The last couple of times we’ve gone down in to League one I’ve felt ok about the situation as we had a decent core to the team or were capable of rebuilding, This year I feel like if we go down we will have multiple players sold for peanuts and face a long rebuild and a hard slog to get back to where we are. Seems like a lot of expertise has left the club and the Cryne situation means the spreadsheet is probably pretty bare. The club needs to consider the potential cost of 2-3 seasons at a league one level not just a single relegation season.

love this club and have done for nearly 30 years since my first game, My son is old enough for his first game next year and I can’t wait to take him but I really hope it’s under better circumstances than the toxic ***** we are being served up week in week out at the moment. How good was it yesterday when the players rallied at 3-0 down and scored those 2 goals, that’s the entertainment we pay our money to see. A bit of passion, if only our manager could show some….

I genuinely think the reason Schopp is still there is because they have no idea how to replace him it’s not the cost of sacking him that’s the problem it’s the guarantees a decent coach would want to come.
Can you imagine telling Mick McCarthy that increasing the value of players is more important than league position and to expect once players reach a certain value they will be sold and another youngster signed to replace him. And that the way we play must be with that in mind. Then offering him a job. I know what the response will be

The cost of relegation has to be more than paying Schopp off, i dont understand even our non football owners can see we will stay up if he goes.

Interesting that you conclude that Conway gives a toss about the club. Does he? Does he really? I suspect some would disagree with you.

I think they'd sell if the right offer came in

I think he’d be gone by now if Murray was still at the club to take over on a temporary basis.

Sorry that was a little unclear. He doesn’t care about it the way us fans do. He cares about it as an investment opportunity and a way to make money.

I must admit I hadn’t considered this option that a group of investors in several European football clubs wouldn’t know how to go about getting a new manager and coaches in. You’d think they would just replace one yes man with another to get the fans of their backs.

no chance if they do eventually replace him we will get anyone like Mick, will end up with with another coach form the continent for the reasons you mentioned. McCarthy would tell them where to go

Wouldn’t surprise me if Conway didnt sort out his contract without any sort of break clause meaning we have to pay up the full 3 years. Can’t understand why he’s anywhere near the club otherwise tbh.
