I was only there for a day in the late seventies & there looked to be a lot of interesting places to visit but alas by lasting memory of Hamburg was that everything seemed as if it could have done with a face lift, the buildings looked dull & I would alike it to a black & white film but I feel sure forty years later it will be completely different .
Obviously Football & other sports, Golf, Darts, occasionally Cricket. Wrestling, mainly WWE, although I don’t watch it these days, just keep up to date VIA Twitter etc. Video games; PS5 mainly on Warzone & FIFA at the minute. I love Football Manager also, could spend hours on that. Music, I have a small Vinyl collection made up of my favourite albums, I don’t add to it much though. Films & box sets, particularly Horror films. True crime buff, mainly unresolved mysteries etc, I can spend hours trawling through Reddit & websleuths, going down rabbit holes on particular cases.
I bought a gaff up there in North Sunderland (Seahouses) 3 years ago. Such is the clamour for coastal property I couldn’t afford to buy it now. I must walk from Seahouses to Bamburgh and back on the beach about 12 times a year
My main hobby is walking/trecking with a special love for going up mountains , I also do quite a bit of fishing & played cricket into my mid fifties & retain an interest via umpiring last season & watching the club I played for . I have finally sacked off golf after realising I am useless although it took me the best part of fifty years to finally accept the truth , I took up crown green bowling about three years ago & played for my local club last year & I am looking forward to doing the same next year..

Northumberland is fantastic, lovely big often quite beaches. Loads of Castles. Lovely countryside, wildlife. Mixture of moorland Dale's and coast. Big county not as busy as Yorkshire dales. Alnwick, alnmouth, we often stay in Warkworth.
I suspect it's like a lot of big cities that are on rivers and its been developed like crazy over the last few decades. Lots of modern buildings, though the modern opera house, despite being very modern in design is quite iconic. The old warehouses have been retained which is quite nice, and there were plenty of other areas of interest, just that they seemed to be surrounded by things clad in metal and glass (though probably not as bad as many large UK cities).

Has the pub improved? We went in looking forward to a crab sandwich and it came in sliced white bread. Was a few years ago tho. Walked from craster to dunstonborough castle then on to embleton. Had a few pints and lunches in the Greys Inn. Or a cup of tea at the golf club.

Travel as much as I can. Watching pretty much any sport especially rugby and football. Playing pretty much any sport, it's touch rugby, 5 a side, cycling and swimming at the moment. Skiing - the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Spend the rest of my time figuring out how to fit in and fund more of the above.
Only been to craster that once probably 10 years ago. Prefer embleton walking on beach. Last time we were there a couple of days before xmas 2019 there was only us and the dog and another couple with their dog on the beach. We spoke to them while dogs were playing and they were from Barnsley and had just moved to Christon Bank.
