Would like to think we’ve been sounding out replacements already for when inevitable happens we can’t afford to be messing around for weeks looking for someone.
Think you heard wrong He is currently managing Turkey - cant see him giving that up to come to us . I know letting facts get in the way of a good gag
I said on Sunday, the players were doing shape and pass routines, that are usually done the day before a game. No intense warm ups before kick off,no wonder players are getting injured. Then at half-time, the subs come on the pitch with some balls and pass around to each other. No Sports science staff with them, then after 5 mins ,the useless head of Sports science we got from Man city, came on, had a few words and then walked off and left them to it. For 25 years, we have had players warming up properly, passing intently, getting prepared, even subs warming up every 15 minutes. Nothing at the moment, clubs in league two are better run and organised than Bfc at the moment. We need a new Head of Sports science, with enough analysts and Physiotherapists working with them. Elite sports athletes need proper care and management, in order to perform. Otherwise it's like taking your Super car to your local village garage. I have criticised this Head of Sports science since he arrived and will continue to do so until he leaves. Clinically, I think the players well being is at risk, my opinion not a fact.
The problem is that the board is based abroad, they know nothing about football or anyone iwith knowledge about English football, other than Gauthier. Billy Beane has a advisor in Holland, or used to have. They work in a linear fashion, the CEO,for all that he lived in Manchester for 6 years, seems clueless and has no contacts. I agree that Schopp, lacks advisers and analysts he can trust. It was obvious on Sunday, what tweaks in personnel were needed to be made to bring success,he didn't or couldn't see that. Not criticising you or anything you've said, you are right but Barnsley FC are no longer run as a English football league club at the moment.
I’m sure Graham Jones will be looking for a job soon enough would make a good nos 2 for anyone. Not sure he’s up to the top job but couldn’t do any worse then this useless pudding we’ve got now.
Do you know if we've replaced all the sports science bods? Is that head of the sports science guy a new appointment? That sounds very grim and if our players aren't being guided to do the right sorts of prep and fitness work, we've got huge problems.
We seem to be trying to mimic Red Bull and City's set ups, but without properly investing in it or employing anyone who knows what they are doing to oversee it and shape it. Recruiting people who are no big loss to those set ups isn't going to have a great effect on us. And the problem with not valuing the people you have is they'll move on eventually. And the replacement has no guarantee of being comparable. Its early days so with so much broken in the summer its hard to know from the outside... but we could easily have worse personnel in every position that had to be replaced. Crazy.
this is where I feel a bit confused .My son who only plays junior league football gets angsty if we're not at a match in time to warm up properly, my daughters who danced always did the same. Surely you do the routines that you know suit you? Just seems a bit like teacher isn't looking so let's mess about!
It could well be. Maybe its all a bit after the lord mayors show. We've lost some very good people and what seems a strong, but likely dictatorial leader, so everything in contrast feels softer and weaker. Its just all a colossal mess isn't it? I don't even know where you begin to sort it all out.
If we had a head coach who could set a team up and get a few wins and score goals it wouldn't be so bad. I'm just scared if we do eventually get rid of this clown we will look in the great footballing nation of Austria and there 2nd tier. Everyone cries out for experience this and that but we couldn't have appointment a less experienced joker in schopp out of his depth.
We could have appointed someone less experienced, obviously. We have major problems with fitness and are picking up more injuries than we have for a good while. Whoever is the next coach (if indeed we change) will inherit this very same problem.
Could that be in part due to the fact that he's not having them train hard enough and so when it comes to games try just aren't able to handle it?
But are we? Anderson got injured pre season Morris a bad tackle Benson got covid, rumors of a schopp fall out never seen since and no one knows the injury he has. Admittedly fitness doesn't look great but schopp will have changed training up from what they were doing with val. Players have been critical could be down to that.
